We honor and celebrate diversity. We believe that with diversity, we are more agile because we have greater perspective. Just as important as diversity is full inclusion. We believe that everyone can work, that there is a role for everyone, and that we all need to work. We are committed to an environment that welcomes everyone and where everyone feels valued. #diversity #inclusion #equality #keelworks #nonprofit #employment

ALBEI believes that embracing diversity in all its forms in the board rooms of Australia will lead to better decision making, better returns for shareholders and an expanded pool of talent to draw upon. The ASX Corporate Governance Council is currently accepting submissons on its proposed corporate governance standards for the next 5 years. We believe that they do not go far enough. In 2015, KPMG Australia advised that "Many of the initiatives designed to address gender diversity may be applied to improve diversity in ‘beyond gender’ areas. This should reduce the lead in time for entities to establish quantitative objectives for broader diversity areas" It is now almost 10 years later and there is still no progress, change is needed. We are working together with other under-represented groups to make progress. Please join us in making a submisison - the deadline is the 6 May. Diverse boards bring better decision making, better shareholder returns and a bigger pool of talent to draw upon. Why is Australia so far behind developments in the UK, US and Canada and will not catch up for years? Will foreign investors start wondering why Australia does not have a modern approach to diversity? Why is the ASX Corporate Governance Council not moving the dial on board diversity- are they too timid? Read ALBEI's submission on the proposed Corporate Governance Standards that will apply for the next 5 to 7 years. We believe that policy development needs a strong underpinning of data and research and the Watermark Search International and Governance Institute of Australia Board Diversity Index Report has shown that the dial on diversity has not moved in 10 years. 🌱 Celebrating National Inclusion Week 🌈 In honour of #NationalInclusionWeek, I want to share how our Rainbows group is committed to being inclusive of all abilities, both seen and hidden. Inclusivity forms the backbone of our activities, making sure every girl, irrespective of her abilities, feels welcomed and valued. The impact of inclusivity extends far beyond just the activities we organize—it changes attitudes and lives. When we create inclusive environments, we break down barriers and challenge stereotypes. This shift not only empowers individuals but also cultivates empathy, understanding, and a deeper sense of community. When people feel valued and included, it transforms their outlook, promotes positive mental health, and encourages personal and professional growth. To mark this special week, why not consider connecting with a non-profit organisation in your local community or online? Volunteering your time to support charities that assist those with disabilities can be incredibly rewarding. Not only does it give back to the community, but it also opens doors to learning more about diversity, building meaningful connections, and fostering a spirit of inclusion. By volunteering, we can all learn more about our community and ourselves. Let's make an impact together. What actions will you take to support inclusion? 🏳️🌈 Today, Y Careers stands in solidarity with the #LGBTQIA+ community worldwide as we observe #IDAHOBIT. 🏳️🌈 INCLUSIVE is one of our Y Careers values, as we believe in fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work every day. 🤝 We recognise that celebrating diversity isn't just a one-day event— it’s an ongoing journey of education, advocacy, and allyship. As an organisation, we strive to champion equality and promote a culture of belonging. However, we also acknowledge that there is still work to be done to ensure that everyone can live and work free from discrimination and prejudice. It’s refreshing to be a part of an organisation with values, as well as leaders, who live and breathe diversity as openly as ours. Let’s continue to raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and stand up against discrimination in all its forms. #YCareers #TheYAustralia #nonforprofit #youngpeople #futureofwork #careindustry The Y Australia

Nonprofits play a vital role in society and make up 10 percent of private employment. It’s well known that women predominate in the sector but not in leadership or higher paying roles. So this past year Gender Fair ranked the fairness of over 20,000 nonprofit organizations, each with 50 or more employees and provides detailed information on individual organizations. Some sectors do better than others: note that STEM sits at at the bottom which is not surprising considering the overall lack of women in the field--despite years of effort trying to change it. Nonprofits serving some children and solving hunger issues do the best. Dig down into the details of the nonprofits you support. https://lnkd.in/gzV4eRQ7 The Chronicle of Philanthropy Kiersten Marek Beth N. Renée Joslyn Susan McPherson Debra Mesch LaTisha B.
