🎉 At the end of 2024, the Odn@wiamy project has also concluded. This project was conducted throughout 2023/2024 by the Fundacja Zaraz Wracam and we once again actively participated! 👏 Fundacja Zaraz Wracam originates directly from the Stary Las Foundation and continues its mission and principles, focusing on green initiatives: ecology, environmental protection, and recycling. 🍃 We believe that the idea of giving a second life to audio-visual equipment that companies and individuals no longer need is incredibly important to promote. Without hesitation, we joined this initiative again, contributing our share in the form of used devices. Several other companies joined the project, and together, we achieved truly impressive results! 💪 The Foundation collected: 👇 🖥️ 158 computers 💽 114 other devices 🖥️ 78 monitors ⌨️ 42 keyboards 💻 38 laptops 🖱️ 32 mice 🖨️ 15 printers In addition to the donated equipment, the Zaraz Wracam Foundation purchased monitors, keyboards, and mice. As a result, they delivered 102 complete computer sets and 28 laptops to 22 institutions. 🙌 Check out the full project summary in the video! 👇 And if you’re wondering how you can do something good while giving a second life to your audio-visual equipment, be sure to reach out to the Fundacja Zaraz Wracam. 🙂 #aplusvEurope #odnawiamy #ZarazWracamFoundation #recycling #ecology

The Huntsville Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce that All Ontario Recycling, has renewed their generous $25,000 pledge to the Business Cares Initiative, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening healthcare in our community. ‘We are grateful that All Ontario Recycling has renewed their commitment to the Business Cares initiative’ said Trish Kruusmagi, Development Officer Events & Community Engagement. ‘For nine years, Kevin and Bev, owners of All Ontario Recycling have generously supported Huntsville Hospital Foundation, contributing nearly $40,000 during that time. Their dedication extends to supporting both Muskoka hospitals, and they know this is an impactful way to strengthen our community and improve patient care for everyone who calls Muskoka home.’ Bev & Kevin told the foundation: ‘We wanted to align our company with a meaningful cause and supporting Huntsville Hospital does just that. All of us will need the hospital one day – our staff will need it, our family and our neighbours. Supporting the hospital(s) ensures that advanced medical equipment, technology and services are available for us where they’re needed most – right here in Muskoka.’ Since January 2016, the Huntsville Hospital Foundation Business Cares initiative has raised over $2 million to help our hospital acquire advanced technology and equipment. Thanks to the caring business leaders of our incredible town and the communities around it, the initiative continues to grow, and more business leaders continue to step up in support of our hospital. In today's press for Stonegrove Community Trust, an article on the donation of some recycled plastic benches for the OneStonegrove centre, published and donated by Medequip. A small, but important addition to the centre. These are made from recycled analogue communication devices as part of the Digital Swtich, which will see all telecare analogue devices disconnected by 2027. This will result in an estimated 1.8 million devices, largely made of plastic becoming redundant. Medequip has worked to turn these into benches rather than end up in landfill. Interestingly, despite the devices becoming redundant, these benches will now likely outlast all of us.. https://lnkd.in/eKrDmYPT

Did you know that if not properly disposed of, up to three billion contacts may end up in our wastewater treatment plants every year? In the spirit of protecting our planet, I am proud to share the amazing work our Bausch + Lomb team is doing to reduce the impact disposable contact lenses have on the environment. This one-of-a-kind program, the only one in the US, helps properly recycle contact lens waste through TerraCycle. To date the program has collected 84,343,540 units, or 510,116 pounds, of used contact lenses, eye care and lens care materials in the U.S. - that’s greater than the weight of the Statue of Liberty! But protecting the environment is only part of this amazing program. We also proudly support protecting vision, and through partnerships, can do exactly that; help protect vision across the globe…for every 10 pounds of materials collected, a $10 donation is made to Optometry Giving Sight—a global organization that supports the building of sustainable optometry worldwide To all eye care providers, follow the steps below to start helping the planet and helping more patients, one contact lens at a time. #EarthDay2024 #Sustainability #EyeCare #EcoFriendly #Recycle #Optometry

Thinking of tossing that old laptop? Hold on! E-waste often holds hidden treasures: reusable parts and components. Let's explore reuse options: - Give it a New Home: Donate working electronics to schools, charities, or individuals in need. Someone else can get great use out of them! - Upgrade, Don't Replace: Consider upgrading components like RAM or hard drives in your existing electronics instead of buying entirely new ones. - Get Crafty! Tech-savvy tinkerers can find creative uses for old electronics in DIY projects, like building robots or media centers. But wait, there's more! Even non-functional electronics can be reused: - Parting is Caring: E-waste processors can recover valuable components for use in new electronics, reducing reliance on raw materials. ♻️ - Refurbishment Magic: Companies specialize in refurbishing used electronics, giving them a second life with a warranty. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle E-waste! #EWCRA #Ewaste #Reuse #Repurpose #SecondLife #ReduceWaste #SustainableLiving #GoGreen

We’re supporting a pilot project to boost recycling rates across Norfolk which will result in hospital walking aids being refurbished to benefit other patients. The project aims to make it easier for patients to recycle the walking aids given to them after treatment. So people can now take them to their nearest recycling centre. There are 19 recycling centres across Norfolk, and there is no need to book an appointment to leave a walking aid at one of the council’s reuse shops. The project has already resulted in 400 walking aids being handed in over the last two months.
