Every day, around 800 women die during childbirth (World Health Organization)—a staggering statistic highlighting the urgent need for better healthcare. In commemorating this year's #WorldHealthDay, we are advocating for the need to prioritize women’s and newborns' well-being. SDG 3 is about ensuring healthy lives and well-being for all. This means improving healthcare access, strengthening mental health services, and advancing preventative care. You can help by spreading awareness about health issues, advocating for better healthcare systems, and supporting local healthcare initiatives. At Credo Advisory, we amplify health initiatives by providing communication strategies in support of social behavioral change campaigns. 💙 Good health is a right, not a privilege. Let’s take action! Hunger affects 1 in 3 people globally. According to the FAO, nearly 690 million people go hungry daily. Climate change, conflict, and inequality are fueling a growing food crisis. The goal is clear: ensure food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture by 2030. You can help by reducing food waste, supporting local farmers, and advocating for fair food policies. Credo’s partnership with Results for Development for the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement's Finance Capacity Development Platform involves supporting efforts to make nutrition financing a priority across over 60 countries which will help improve nutrition outcomes globally. Our support for initiatives that focus on sustainable agricultural practices and food security, such as the Amayi Foods Limited project, helps to improve access to nutritious food in Nigeria and beyond. I am 50 years old and experienced something for the first time this week. Here is the backstory. I was one of 20 Vital Voices Global Partnership Visionary alumni selected to participate in this year’s Visionaries Summit in Washington, DC. Representing Credo Advisory, it was great to join this group of dynamic women driving impact. With our stories of triumphs and trials from Kenya, Sierra Leone, Mexico, Peru, Nepal, USA, Mauritius, India, Brazil, Uganda, Indonesia, South Africa, Morocco and Nigeria, we worked together to advance our bold ideas and improve our leadership skills. It was great to connect with VV network leaders and Estee Lauder executives who made this possible. For the first time in 50 years, I feel part of a community that intentionally supports women! Everything from the workshops, panel discussions, team-building activities, and even the professional headshot photoshoot was carefully designed to help us advance our work. The VV team curated an exceptional experience for women to celebrate and uplift each other while committing to driving our bold ideas as leaders. There were so many moments that raised the bar. I have a notepad full of inspiring quotes: Leadership is a journey, not a position. Leadership is getting people to say, “That’s right”, and not “You are right.” When someone says no, the real conversation starts. Every no expires at midnight. A closed mouth is a closed destiny. I don’t need you to be confident; I need you to be courageous. Stop being humble. Be grateful. Nobody funds desperation. Fail at something! It means you are trying. (There are so many more ………) To my VV sisters, thank you for the unadulterated sisterhood – my heart is full. Tara Connaughton Janice Veksler Deloitte Ali Dominguez Elizabeth Muse Bofta Yimam StoryLede Nikki Innocent Takia Ross - for building our capacity as leaders. And finally, Vital Voices Global Partnership's incredible team. Mayra Tenorio Regina Da Silva Manira Alva Kalli Ruffennach Stephanie Lord Alyse Nelson Thank you for the space you created for us to strive and thrive. More importantly, thanks for your support to young women. They do not have to wait until they are 50 to experience this life-changing network of women supporting women. #VisionariesSummit25 #VitalVoices #EsteeLauderEmergingLeaders #IAmAVisionary #CredoAdvisory #CredoVoices
