Invest in women. Improve the world.
About us
Founded over 20 years ago, Vital Voices turns the traditional model of development on its head with a simple mission: invest in women, improve the world. With deep, individualized investments, Vital Voices seeks out creative and fearless women leaders with daring vision and proven local solutions. We then partner with them to amplify that impact and create global change. The women leaders we work with can participate in skill-building and network development efforts in three key areas: • leadership development and global activation • economic empowerment and entrepreneurship • human rights and combatting violence against women These efforts come to life through our signature programs and individual, targeted investment approaches.

🎥 New Series Launch We are proud to introduce 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 — a new Vital Voices series that amplifies the voices of women on the ground across our global network. Every week, hear directly from exceptional leaders around the world as they share the challenges they face, the resilience they draw upon, and their visions for a better future. Our first episode features Celine Kasem, a Syrian activist and human rights defender who has documented war crimes and advocated for justice throughout the Syrian conflict. Following the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024, Vital Voices mobilized swiftly to support women leaders committed to rebuilding a peaceful, democratic Syria. We helped nine activists return safely after more than 12 years in exile, ensuring their voices remain central to this critical transition. Tune in each week as we continue to spotlight courageous women driving change on the ground. 🎬 Watch the first episode now: Instagram: https://lnkd.in/dRr_y6eh TikTok: https://lnkd.in/dden6ess

A few weeks ago, we hosted the 2025 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 cohort at Vital Voices for an unforgettable two-day experience! 💪 These dynamic young women, ages 18 to 27, traveled from 13 states to share their passion for social impact – from climate justice and period product access to using art as activism. Day one was filled with workshops on leadership, hearing from local grassroots leaders, and even attending a live podcast taping with Sara Blakely! Day two kicked off with a powerful pitch and networking session, followed by mentorship circles where participants connected with experts from academia, government, social impact, and law. One of the highlights? A session on fundraising – a key challenge for women in social impact work – followed by an inspiring panel featuring leaders from Girl Up and Howard University. These young change-makers left with fresh ideas, new connections, and renewed energy to drive their projects forward! ─────────────────── Yochi H., Wawa Gatheru, Rania Harrara (رانيا حرارة), #NatalieVentura, Mariah Havener, Maya Manchester, Khadija N., Kayla Austin, Kamina Griffin, Kadijah Mansaray, Jocelyn T., Esther Edohwokui, England Meadows, Dania Verbena, Cherie Animashaun, Carina Laventure, Brianna Gallimore, Angela Zhong, Aissata Sackho.
