Earlier this year, wildfires in Los Angeles caused widespread destruction, displacing families and damaging homes, schools, and businesses. In response, ULI Los Angeles, UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate, and the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate have released Project Recovery—a comprehensive roadmap to guide rebuilding efforts and strengthen the city’s long-term resilience. Approximately 100 leading experts, including ULI members, specializing in land use, real estate, infrastructure, and economic development have volunteered their time and expertise to the report – offering best practices and actionable recommendations to not only accelerate the recovery process in LA but also serve as a blueprint to help cities navigate recovery when impacted by climate-related disasters.
