🌟 Candid Leadership Lessons with Anthony Couse 🌟 What does it really take to lead across cultures, drive meaningful change, and stay authentic in leadership? The ULI Singapore Young Leaders Group got first-hand insights from Anthony Couse , former CEO of JLL Asia Pacific, at our latest Lunch & Learn session on 18 March at DP Architects. Moderated by Ruen Qing Wong, project designer from RIOS, this lunch and learn session was a refreshingly honest conversation about the real challenges leaders face and the lessons learned along the way. 🔹 Leading Across Cultures Anthony reflected on his leadership journey across multiple countries, highlighting the need for adaptability and cultural awareness. He emphasized that leadership across cultures requires adaptability, active listening, and mutual respect. His key takeaway? Lead by learning, not imposing your way of doing things. 🔹 Driving Change in Organization Leadership Anthony shared how he faced resistance, navigated office politics, and sometimes had to push against the grain to make real progress. His advice? Get people on board by showing them the bigger picture, and don’t be afraid to challenge the status quo. Authenticity, he noted, plays a key role in gaining trust and driving meaningful transformation. 🔹 Authenticity in Leadership Anthony defined leadership as balancing integrity, transparency, and self-awareness. His advice: Be real, stay flexible, and build trust without creating uncertainty. 🔹 Reinventing Leadership Beyond Corporate Life Anthony described stepping away from the C-suite as both liberating and daunting — a transition that ultimately opened doors to new ways of making an impact. His advice? Stay curious, embrace uncertainty, and keep evolving. 💡 Top Leadership Lessons from the Session: ✅ Cultural adaptability is crucial for leading diverse teams successfully. ✅ Change management requires persistence, strategic vision, and authenticity. ✅ Authentic leadership means staying true to one’s values while balancing corporate responsibilities. ✅ Career transitions present opportunities for reinvention and continuous learning.
