🚀 Exciting News from Helicus! 🚀 We are proud to announce that on November 8th, Helicus has obtained the Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC)! This certification represents a significant milestone in our journey to advance drone operations and underscores our commitment to excellence and safety. We have already put our LUC privileges into action, successfully starting BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) medical transport flights between Jan Yperman Ziekenhuis hospital sites in Diksmuide and Ypres. This achievement demonstrates the reliability and efficiency of our operations in real-world healthcare settings. Initially developed for medical logistics, our expertise now opens the door to expanding these capabilities to other demanding and value-added use cases across various industries. A huge thank you to our incredible team and partners for their dedication in making this possible. A worldwide first delivered, up & running ! 🥳 Automated drone airport fully integrated in an operational hospital 🏥 Helicus transports human medical samples from Diksmuide clinic to the central hospital lab in Ypres (26 km land route). These were offloaded and delivered deep inside the hospital building in the clinical laboratory via the hospital's pneumatic tube system. Basically, after loading the medical samples in Diksmuide, the clinical samples were delivered without any human intervention. What could be a ride that takes 45 minutes (no certainty), now took 14 minutes (into the hands of the laboratory technician). No non-medical personnel ever even touched the sample container. The key outcome was the laboratory team statement: "We did not notice a difference versus a sample being delivered from within the hospital itself". That is an amazing result ! The ultimate world news: New high tech is seamlessly integrated with existing hardware and software systems without a noticeable impact on the end-user.
