Halloween is just around the corner, and at Brighton Our World, we want to ensure that every child has a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience. Here are some helpful tips for families to keep in mind this Halloween: 1. Stay in Groups: Always trick-or-treat in groups and accompany young children. There’s safety in numbers, and it’s more fun too! 2. Plan Your Route: Choose a familiar route in well-lit areas. Avoid dark streets and unfamiliar neighborhoods. 3. Check Costumes: Make sure costumes are safe and comfortable. Use face paint instead of masks that can obstruct vision, and ensure costumes are short enough to prevent tripping. 4. Glow in the Dark: Equip your trick-or-treaters with glow sticks, reflective tape, or flashlights. Being visible is key to staying safe. 5. Inspect Treats: Always check candy and treats for tampering before children start snacking. Discard anything that looks suspicious. 6. Follow Traffic Rules: Use crosswalks and sidewalks. Remind children to look both ways before crossing the street and to be aware of their surroundings. 7. Respect Boundaries: Only visit homes with porch lights on, and never enter a stranger’s home or garage. With these tips, families can enjoy a safe and memorable Halloween. Have fun, stay safe, and don’t forget to share your costumes with us! #SafeHalloween #TrickOrTreating #BrightonOurWorld #HalloweenSafetyTips

HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT Halloween night is full of excitement, with children and families out and about trick or treating. Every year this mysterious slightly scary event seems to become even more popular in shops and with the amount of sweets that are left out for the many groups collecting around our streets in Essex and futher afield. Exciting event yes, however, safety should always be a priority. Here are some important personal safety tips for groups to consider when planning to celebrate halloween. Travel in groups and stay together, trick or treating in a group is not only more fun but also much safer. Make sure costumes are flame-resistant and fit well to avoid trips. It’s best to plan a route in advance, sticking to familiar, well-lit areas. Avoid shortcuts through parks, alleys, or unlit paths. Staying on main roads can help ensure better visibility and safety. Take a torch, make sure everyone in the group is carrying a torch or neon lights. These not only light the way but also make the group visible to motorists. Reflective tape on costumes or bags is another great way to ensure visibility. Masks can obstruct a child’s view, which might lead to accidents. Please consider these safety tips Have a great and safe HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT #safetytips #halloween

Here are a few simple tips to ensure a memorable Halloween night for all: Glow and Go: Equip costumes with reflective tape or glow sticks to keep trick-or-treaters visible in the dark. Watch for cars, and remind kids to stay on sidewalks or paths. 🚦 Stay in Groups: There’s safety (and fun!) in numbers. Travel in groups, and for younger children, make sure a responsible adult is along for the adventure. 🤝 Check Treats: Before eating any treats, do a quick check to make sure everything is sealed and safe.
