🎃 Have a Safe and Spooky Halloween! 👻 Halloween is here, and we want to make sure you and your little ghouls and goblins have a fun—and safe—evening! Here are a few simple tips to ensure a memorable Halloween night for all: Glow and Go: Equip costumes with reflective tape or glow sticks to keep trick-or-treaters visible in the dark. Flashlights can be handy too! 🔦 Costume Safety: Make sure costumes are the right length to prevent trips and falls. 🎩 Street Smarts: Cross the street at corners, use crosswalks, and walk—don’t run! Watch for cars, and remind kids to stay on sidewalks or paths. 🚦 Stay in Groups: There’s safety (and fun!) in numbers. Travel in groups, and for younger children, make sure a responsible adult is along for the adventure. 🤝 Check Treats: Before eating any treats, do a quick check to make sure everything is sealed and safe. Better safe than sorry! 🍬 Be Respectful: Not every house may be open to trick-or-treaters. A porch light off typically means no one is home or participating. 🎃 And share your best costumes below 🧛♀️✨ #halloween #october #trickortreat #candy #costume

Ramping up for Halloween? Play safe and remember to: Wear Reflective Gear or Carry Lights: Make sure costumes include reflective elements or that children carry flashlights or glow sticks. This helps drivers see them, especially after dark. Stay on Sidewalks and Crosswalks: Use sidewalks whenever possible, and cross the street at designated crosswalks. Avoid running across the road to ensure drivers have time to see and stop for you. Choose Safe Costumes: Costumes should fit properly to prevent tripping and not obstruct vision. Avoid masks that limit peripheral sight, and consider face paint instead. Go with a Group and Stay in Familiar Areas: Children should trick-or-treat in groups or with an adult, sticking to well-lit and familiar neighborhoods for added safety. Inspect Candy Before Eating: Wait until returning home to inspect all treats. Discard any unwrapped or suspicious items to ensure they are safe to eat. Have a fun and safe Halloween! 🎃

HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT Halloween night is full of excitement, with children and families out and about trick or treating. Every year this mysterious slightly scary event seems to become even more popular in shops and with the amount of sweets that are left out for the many groups collecting around our streets in Essex and futher afield. Exciting event yes, however, safety should always be a priority. Here are some important personal safety tips for groups to consider when planning to celebrate halloween. Travel in groups and stay together, trick or treating in a group is not only more fun but also much safer. Make sure costumes are flame-resistant and fit well to avoid trips. It’s best to plan a route in advance, sticking to familiar, well-lit areas. Avoid shortcuts through parks, alleys, or unlit paths. Staying on main roads can help ensure better visibility and safety. Take a torch, make sure everyone in the group is carrying a torch or neon lights. These not only light the way but also make the group visible to motorists. Reflective tape on costumes or bags is another great way to ensure visibility. Masks can obstruct a child’s view, which might lead to accidents. Please consider these safety tips Have a great and safe HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT #safetytips #halloween
