PEO MLB’s Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) closed out 2024 with a bang! Last month, RRL participated in the Interservice / Industry Training, Simulation, and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando, FL. I/ITSEC is the world’s largest modeling, simulation, and training conference for stakeholders to congregate and collaborate. David K., Ready Relevant Learning director, was honored to speak on a dynamic panel focused on advanced technology for defense training and readiness. Navy captains and senior civilian leaders vital to the Navy training mission discussed multiple topics spanning weapons platforms, Sailor needs, and the training environments the Navy uses. Each panel member discussed their program's highlights and shared their strategic visions. Dave shared insights into key RRL initiatives and capabilities, highlighting innovative training improvements that drive mission success. He provided a comprehensive overview into how RRL is helping to shape the future of naval readiness. Other panel members included Arnold Mallory, Information Warfare Department Head with the NAVWAR, and Capt. James Rorer, F-35 Training Systems and Simulation Program Office. [Press Release | Link Below] Big win for U.S. Pacific Fleet and the crew of the USS Somerset through the CAMRE team at the Naval Postgraduate School by returning an inoperable reverse osmosis pump on the ship back to fully operational. With this system offline, the vessel is forced to operate at a reduced capacity, impacting readiness. Since the damaged part was not expected to be available for 9+ months, the team onboard rapidly responded with an accepted solution in a matter of days, allowing them to continue their operational deployment. While CAMRE set conditions for success, this was truly a joint effort, executed by extremely talented Sailors, Marines and Soldiers using the #advancedmanufacturing system CAMRE provided the ship during the exercise. #3Dprinting provides timely responses in contested, maritime environments, and the research conducted by students and faculty during Trident Warrior 24 continue to advance the adoption of metal #additivemanufacturing for the United States Department of Defense.
