Department of Defense Awards 12/16/2024 The most notable Department of Defense contract this week includes a $194 million award to Taylor Tekla Test Partner Organization for engineering and technical services supporting the Naval Test Wing Atlantic’s Mission Systems Test and Evaluation Department. This work focuses on evaluating avionics, sensors, and communication systems to enhance Navy and Marine Corps missions. Additionally, Lockheed Martin and Huntington Ingalls received contracts supporting F/A-18 aircraft components and DDG 51-class shipyards, respectively. 🇺🇸💥 The US Navy declared IOC for the Next-Generation Jammer Mid-Band system, enhancing the E/A-18 Growler's electromagnetic spectrum warfare capabilities. The NGJ-MB, developed by RTX, uses advanced software-based and electronically scanned array technologies to disrupt adversaries’ radars within the 2 GHz to 6 GHz range. It has already been deployed aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln in Middle East operations. 🗣️ “NGJ-MB will boost our fleet’s ability to maintain spectrum dominance,” EA-18G Naval Flight Officer Lt. Cmdr. BlueHalo is set to provide hardware, materials, components, and operational support to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) for modular payload-compliant electronic warfare (EW) sensors onboard UAS. Under the five-year contract from the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific, BlueHalo will support the design, upgrade, testing, delivery, and evaluation of complex sensor systems.
