After an incredible 28 years of dedicated service, we celebrate Roxy Campos, our Procurement Division Head Supervisor, on her retirement! Roxy started as an entry-level employee in 1996 and leaves behind an inspiring legacy of mentorship, guiding over 100 employees in the Procurement Department. Her passion for developing people and ensuring the warfighter receives our very best will be deeply missed. At her retirement ceremony, Roxy was recognized with the Department of the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Award, a testament to her outstanding contributions. We have an awesome relationship with our partner school, Blankner K-8. For over 30 years we have run quarterly awards ceremonies and annual job shadow days and toy drives. Yesterday, April 1st, was a Great Navy Day in Orlando with three noteworthy celebrations! #1 - The 132nd birthday of the Navy Chief. The Chief's mess is the backbone of the Navy - our real edge over other militaries. Thank you to our local Chief's Mess for the celebration, and yet another cake at work. If you don't know, #AskTheChief! #2 - The 70th birthday of the NAVY EXCHANGE SERVICE COMMAND (NEXCOM). #NEXCOM is a force multiplier for our sailors and families - they are taking care of us 24/7 all over the world...a GREAT organization. Thanks to Lance J L. for inviting me to celebrate this milestone with you, the world's best NEX here in Orlando. And yes, before you ask, Orlando not only has a base but an (the best) #NEX! #3 - We promoted CDR Garry Natale. 75 years ago today the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the #Navy and #Army was signed. This is one of the longest-standing collaboration efforts between two branches of service. #NAWCTSD's work with what is now U.S. Army PEO STRI has led to breakthroughs in training and simulation for the #warfighter for more than seven decades!
