Today's JGMA project from the archive is ZED Technology Center (2015)! Designed for the Special Economic Zone of Mariel, a free trade zone in Cuba created to attract foreign investment, the ZED Technology Center aimed to provide a holistically unified experience for all employees. By blending light industrial workspace with a high-tech contemporary office environment, the project was envisioned as a beacon for the entire ZED district and a symbol of progress for Cuba. #Architecture #Design #LatinxArchitect #Cuba

We are excited to share one of our upcoming projects: the expansion of Gads Hill Center! JGMA has been honored to collaborate closely with Gads Hill Center on the development of their Early Learning Center, which has been a vital resource for children and families in Brighton Park since its opening in 2019. Phase I brought new life into a long-vacant building, transforming it into a vibrant hub designed to meet the community’s evolving needs. Building on this foundation, Phase II will focus on renovating the second floor to create spaces for after-school programs and flexible areas for staff collaboration. This expansion continues Gads Hill Center’s mission of providing educational empowerment and community support. #Architecture #Design #LatinxArchitect #Chicago

The Neal Math Science Academy serves as a symbol of educational excellence, pride, and resilience for the youth of North Chicago. Rooted in the community's need of feeling visible, JGMA's design brings to life a vertical school—creating a space where students gain visibility within the city and foster a deeper connection to their surroundings as they progress. Balancing preservation with innovation was a key challenge, resulting in a design that honors the school's history while providing a forward-looking educational environment for learning and growth. Today's JGMA project from the archive is Reimagining Wellness in Humboldt Park! At the Chicago Architecture Biennial (CAB) in 2015, JGMA presented the project "Reimagining Wellness in Humboldt Park". Inspired by the CAB's mission to show how creativity and innovation can transform our daily lives, our team reimagined a unique void within Humboldt Park–a neighborhood shaped by its predominantly Latino population, economic challenges, and history of marginalization. Focusing on Humboldt Park Health Hospital (formerly known as Norwegian American Hospital), our design team envisioned a new wellness-centered framework that connects the hospital to the rhythm of everyday life in the community, creating a link between healthcare and the people it serves. #Architecture #Design #LatinxArchitect #Chicago

Today's JGMA project from the archive is the International Business Center (2015)! The International Business Center responds to the need for a public marketplace that connects food, culture, and economic activity–essential elements of a thriving, full-cycle marketplace. Located along the Chicago River, the design expands on the concept of a closed-cycle market by integrating sustainable features, including a system that repurposes organic waste and what would have been the largest green roof in the city of Chicago. Being at the crossroads of some of the largest Hispanic, Asian, and European communities, the International Business Center was envisioned as a modern American market, designed to bring together people, function, and culture. #Architecture #Design #LatinxArchitect #Chicago

Grace Manor is designed to bring vibrant and energetic spaces back to the North Lawndale neighborhood, symbolizing a new era of progress and hope–just as Route 66 once did. With Chicago's cold weather in full swing, the construction team has been focusing on the interiors. Partition walls are being primed for painting, and light fixtures are being installed. Meanwhile, work has begun on installing the storefront wall on the north side of the building. East Lake Burling Builders, Inc. GRACE AT JERUSALEM CDC #Architecture #Design #LatinxArchitect #Chicago
