Reaching new heights to support True Colours Theatre. On Saturday, we will be joining colleagues from the Fire Department to take on the epic challenge of climbing Scafell Pike – England's tallest mountain. But that’s not all, we'll be tackling the climb whilst wearing full fire kit and breathing apparatus, adding an extra 25kg to our load. All the money raised will go to True Colours Theatre, helping to support the amazing work they do for children and young people in the North East. Aviation courses 🚒 Over the last two weeks we have had delegates from Jersey Airport, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Cornwall Airport Newquay, Falck Airbus and Multinational Force & Observers (based in Egypt). Completing courses including: Supervisor Initial & Reval, Crew Commander, Firefighter Bridging courses all finishing today! Firefighters from Newcastle International Airport Fire Service are taking on the epic challenge of climbing Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, to raise money for the Airport’s official charity partner, True Colours Theatre. If scaling the mountain wasn’t tough enough, they will be doing it while wearing full fire kit and breathing apparatus, adding an extra 25kg of weight. 🚒 Reflecting on a Successful Year at Newcastle International Training Academy 🔥 As we look back at an incredible training year we are proud to share the outstanding achievements of our Firefighter Initial Course, which concluded in December 2024. A huge congratulations to all the recruits who completed the course, demonstrating dedication, resilience, and exceptional teamwork. A special thank you to the Airport Fire Officers Association (AFOA) for sponsoring the Best Recruit Silver Axe which was awarded to Nathan Newbound.
