Cream tea in the sky! Cornwall Airport Newquay launches new route to London Southend Airport with EASTERN AIRWAYS (UK) LIMITED. Yesterday we launched our new daily route to London Southend Airport, with the most appropriate of offerings, a cream tea! With up to seven weekly departures, passengers can now enjoy a convenient and efficient way to travel between London, Essex and the East of England, and the Cornish coast. This route strengthens ties between Cornwall and the capital, making it easier than ever to travel for meetings, family, or a weekend escape. Amy Smith, Managing Director (interim), Cornwall Airport Newquay, said: "We’re pleased to welcome the Eastern Airways’ flight yesterday, connecting the East of England and Cornwall. With demand for leisure travel continuing to grow, this route provides an easy and efficient way for visitors to experience everything Cornwall has to offer - from breathtaking scenery to famous hospitality. To celebrate, we marked the flight with a cream tea at 25,000ft, with Essex bringing the jam and Cornwall, of course, bringing the cream! Yesterday, it was a pleasure to welcome back the first #Skybus flight to kick off their 33rd season with us! ✨ This summer we will see a significant increase in schedule, going from last year's three weekly flights, to two flights every day, Monday to Saturday from the 12 May, and then a third flight added daily from the 1 July. One of our most asked questions is ‘Why don’t you fly to more destinations?’... And it is a great question, with a lot that goes into the answer: ⏳ Long-term strategy - Airlines start prepping their schedules around 15 months in advance. So, decisions today might only take off later on… excuse the pun 😉 🔎 Market research - We survey passenger needs to guide our discussions with airlines, ensuring we're pushing for routes you'll actually use! 💪 Fleet - Does the airline have enough planes and crew to support the route?
