OCS Croydon provide links in the Great Bucket Chain Event, breaking a world record! #ThrowbackThursday 🪣 In 1981, the Great Bucket Chain Event was held in Addington Park, Croydon. 5,000 children, parents and anyone else who could get in the line - passed 500 buckets of water from hand to hand and broke the world record. 🏆✨ The event was organised by the local Fire Brigades Association and aimed at beating the existing record of a chain of 1,801 metres long, held by the Essex Firemen. The new record was achieved at 2,053 metres! The line looped around the park twice, with the Mayor of Croydon opening the event by passing the first bucket.
