World Hormone Day on 24 April is an opportunity for us to work together to put hormones in the spotlight. When hormones are out of balance or fail, this can lead to the development of chronic diseases such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, cancer, osteoporosis and obesity, and other health challenges such as infertility. There are also more than 400 rare endocrine conditions that affect millions of people worldwide, but often go undetected. The new ESE Rare Calcium Phosphate and Bone disorders (ESE Rare-CaPaB) programme is an independent, expert-led educational programme aimed at addressing the unmet needs of the calcium, phosphate and bone community. As part of the programme’s development, an expert panel has created this short survey for clinicians and other healthcare professionals. Its results will help prioritise the key educational areas to be covered during the ESE Rare-CaPaB educational programme. ⏰The survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete, and is open to responses until 27 April 2025. Today is #CushingsAwarenessDay! Cushing's syndrome is a #raredisease and happens when the body has too much of the hormone cortisol for a long time. Early diagnosis and treatment can reverse many features of the disease, but some co-morbidities persist and quality of life remains compromised. Hence, it is important we as a community continue to raise awareness for the signs of Cushing’s syndrome to increase early detection.
