Stride for 85! Today is National Walking Day and the kickoff of an inspiring challenge that combines movement, mindfulness, and mission. The American Diabetes Association is turning 85 this year! Join the Stride for 85 Challenge and walk 85 miles between April 2 and August 27, 2025—ADA’s 85th anniversary. Sounds like a lot? It’s really just half a mile a day (or about 1,000 steps). Whether it’s walking the dog, climbing the stairs, grocery shopping, or dancing around your kitchen—every step counts. 🏃♀️🛒🐾 Let’s honor 85 years of progress and take steps—literally—toward a healthier future for all. I’m in and so is the pup. Are you? 💪 #StrideFor85 #NationalWalkingDay #ADA85 #HealthyHabits #StepByStep #DiabetesAwareness #WalkWithPurpose

👟 #NationalWalkingDay is here, and so is our “Stride for 85” Challenge! 📅 Starting today, April 2, through August 27 (the American Diabetes Association’s 85th anniversary!), my colleagues and I are each lacing up and stepping out to each walk 85 miles. Why 85? Because we’re celebrating 85 years of impact, advocacy, and support for those living with and at risk for diabetes. ❤️ Walking is one of the simplest and most effective ways to support your health, especially if you’re living with diabetes, obesity, or overweight. It helps improve blood glucose levels, supports weight loss, boosts energy, and lowers your risk for heart disease. 🚶♀️ Want to increase your step count throughout the day? Try these easy tips: - 🕛 Walk during your lunch break - 📞 Take calls on the move (walk and talk!) - 🚗 Park farther away and return your shopping cart - 🧗♀️ Choose the stairs over the elevator - 🧹 Clean your living space, it counts! - 🐾 Take your dog on an extra or longer walk - 👯♀️ Schedule walking dates with your spouse, children, or friends 🔗 Check out this great resource on the benefits of walking from the #ADA: https://lnkd.in/eD4-fHGU 🙌 Let’s move more, together. Will you join my husband Jeff Hughes and me? The Race to 85 is on! #StrideFor85 #DiabetesAwareness #ObesityCare #WalkingChallenge #HealthAndWellness

American Diabetes Association turns 85 this year, and today (#NationalWalkingDay!) kicked off the #StrideFor85 challenge with a staff walk. Thankful to have a company and coworkers that encourage me to get away from my desk to move my body and refresh my mind. Rosie (our pup) loves it, too! 💗🏃🏽♀️🐕🦺 Planning to crush the goal of 85 miles by the ADA's 85th anniversary on August 27!
