These agreements were spotlighted during Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat’s working visit to France this week: 🔹 A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs - A*STAR IDL and Institut Pasteur, formalising a Master Research Collaboration Agreement that will initiate two joint research projects on 𝘈𝘨𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 and 𝘔𝘪𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 🔹 Singapore’s National Quantum Office (NQO) and France’s Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS): advancing joint efforts in quantum energetics and photonics. The MRCA between A*STAR IDL and Institut Pasteur will support research into how infections influence ageing and microbial balance—areas critical to understanding chronic disease progression, strengthening immune health, and improving resilience against future health threats. The collaboration also facilitates talent exchange and opens pathways to international grant opportunities, further strengthening long-term research ties. In the quantum space, NQO, a national platform hosted by A*STAR, and CNRS will focus on joint research in quantum energetics and leverage each country’s complementary strengths in photonic device development. These partnerships reflect A*STAR’s commitment to working with global institutions to address shared challenges and deliver science and technology outcomes with real-world impact. 🔗 Learn more about A*STAR IDL’s role in strengthening health resilience and enhancing pandemic preparedness: https://lnkd.in/gGgvbNPZ 🔗 Learn more about A*STAR’s role advancing quantum technologies: https://lnkd.in/gjquJ44V Lisa F.P. Good meeting French Minister in charge of Higher Education and Research Philippe Baptiste yesterday. We had a fruitful discussion on enhancing bilateral collaboration to further our interests in science and research. We also witnessed the exchange of two signed agreements which mark a new chapter in the expanding collaborations between Singapore and France’s research institutions: ✅ A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR IDL) and Institut Pasteur formalised a Master Research Collaboration Agreement, that will initiate two joint research projects on how infections impact ageing and microbial balance — areas critical to understanding chronic disease progression, strengthening immune health, and improving resilience against future health threats; ✅ Singapore’s National Quantum Office (NQO) and France’s Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) signed an MOU to advance joint efforts in quantum energetics and the development of photonic devices. These collaborations not only deepen our ongoing partnerships with France in infectious diseases research and quantum technologies, but also reflect our shared commitment to harnessing science for greater good, and open pathways to more opportunities and knowledge exchange. Congratulations to A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research and NQO on this important milestone! I look forward to seeing these collaborations help address common challenges, and contribute to meaningful advancement in science and technology in the years to come.
