Happy to meet with President of the Regional Council of Île-de-France Valérie Pécresse in Paris, after our last meeting in Singapore. The Île-de-France region has been at the forefront of deep tech advancement and leadership in AI, in fields such as aeronautics and defence. Schools in the region are also actively applying AI to support learning and teaching in schools. During our meeting, we affirmed our common commitment to work together on collaborations across research, innovation, and talent exchange. I also had fruitful discussions with research experts and tech companies at the forefront of emerging fields like quantum computing and biotechnology. These exchanges are instrumental to fostering industry partnerships, on the back of the 4th France-Singapore Joint Committee on Science and Innovation (JCSI) held yesterday in Paris. First convened in 2019, the JCSI has been deepening our bilateral cooperation in scientific research and innovative partnerships. We will continue to build on existing strengths and pool our capabilities to tackle common challenges like public health, climate change, and ageing, to develop new opportunities for our peoples and do our part for the planet.
