Cariboo Clean Fuels is excited to announce the launch of the H2 Fuel Forward (H2FF) program - an industry-led, purpose-built solution to accelerate hydrogen adoption where it matters most: on the road and in the hands of end users. H2FF is a targeted, demand-side incentive model designed to de-risk early hydrogen adoption by reimbursing fleet operators for the cost difference between hydrogen and diesel fuel. It’s simple, scalable, and focused on measurable results. By covering the cost gap, the program enables commercial fleets to make the switch without waiting for long-term fuel cost parity. This drives real demand, which triggers private investment in infrastructure and supply. The program supports producers, distributors, and vehicle manufacturers while delivering immediate emissions reductions from heavy-duty transportation—one of the hardest sectors to decarbonize. Developed with direct input from municipalities, fuel suppliers, fleet operators, and infrastructure developers, the H2FF provides the market signal needed to drive millions of investments into vehicles, fueling stations, and supply chains.   The private sector is aligned, engaged, and ready to lead. H2FF offers government and the market a low-risk, high-impact opportunity to support a growing clean fuels market without picking winners or building infrastructure. With strong interest from industry and a clear path to results, this is the kind of partnership Alberta needs to stay competitive and lead the next wave of energy innovation. Ecosystem Builder in Circular and Clean Technologies

Panel 2 of the Manufactuting for Hydrogen Symposium hosted by Edmonton Global featured a panel on A Manufacturing’s Role in Driving Demand. Mohamed M. moderated a panel featuring Rebecca Goldsack from Diesel Tech Industries Nolan Callander from Argus, and Bob Blatter from Cariboo Clean Fuels. In terms of the future of infrastructure and machining, integration into the hydrogen sector does take careful thought and tremendous amounts of collaboration. Building a sector requires a “never say no” attitude, while still recognizing that a company cannot advance all of the great technologies in development. The challenge is that there is a need to provide a cost-effective solution now that will build the hydrogen sector while also looking into the future when the bridge technologies succeed in facilitating future systems. The dual fuel trucks produced by Diesel Tech Industries and others, along with the 5000 Vehicle Challenge from Edmonton Global, are good examples of how this can be successfully achieved, and also showcases the need for collaborations and networking. Creating mini hubs across a corridor, something that is proposed through the Hydrogen Highway in Western Canada. A unified approach can help to deliver the chicken AND the egg at the same time. Keeping up with regulatory is a challenge facing the manufacturing sector as it looks to support hydrogen, but can also be enhanced through collaboration and knowledge sharing. Looking at what is being done across Canada and around the world offers additional insights. As this panel featured the Chairs of Hydrogen Alberta (Rebecca Goldsack) and Hydrogen BC (Bob Blattler), there was a shout out to the Canadian Hydrogen Association (CHA) for all that they do to advance the hydrogen sector across Canada and beyond. #cleantech #cleantechnology #hydrogen #netzero #cleanfuel

Key members of our executive team had the privilege of spending two productive days at the Alberta Legislature, engaging in meaningful discussions with numerous Cabinet Ministers and Premier Danielle Smith. We were excited to explore how we can support the Government of Alberta’s bold vision to build a thriving Hydrogen Economy.   Low-cost, low-carbon hydrogen presents a tremendous opportunity for Alberta to become a North American leader in the energy sector. By fostering a competitive hydrogen marketplace, Alberta can drive innovation and growth—from fueling industrial applications to decarbonizing transportation and much more. The potential of Alberta’s hydrogen economy is vast, with transformative benefits for both the environment and the economy.   Cariboo is eager to continue these important conversations and work together to unlock a hydrogen market in Alberta that could attract hundreds of millions of dollars in investment, create high-quality jobs, and accelerate the province’s energy transition. Danielle Smith, Devin Dreeshen, Brian Jean, Matt Jones, CFA, Dale Nally , RJ Sigurdson , Nathan Neudorf , Edmonton Global , Canadian Hydrogen Convention , Counsel Public Affairs Inc. , Deron Bilous, MBA, ECA, Dylan Topal, Rebecca Schulz
