We are excited to announce the completion of our first Emergency Power Reserve Service building! This innovative solution addresses the growing need for resilient energy infrastructure in condominium buildings. By combining a battery with a centralized electricity supply with solar power, we are empowering buildings to withstand power outages and reduce their carbon footprint. The owner of the building noted, “Our 14-story building was vulnerable to power outages. Rezil's Emergency Power Reserve Service has alleviated our concerns and provided a cost-effective solution for a large-scale battery system."

$365 million to power resilience and equity in Puerto Rico. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)’s commitment to solar and battery storage is a game-changer for vulnerable communities. By prioritizing renewable energy solutions, this initiative will deliver: ✅Reliable electricity for critical healthcare facilities ✅Energy independence for low-income families ✅A cleaner, more sustainable grid At CarbonMinus, we believe that solutions like these reflect the power of energy innovation to not just meet sustainability goals but also improve lives. Let’s make resilience and accessibility the foundation of the energy transition—because sustainability should leave no one behind. #RenewableEnergy #DepartmentofEnergy #Sustainability #Decarbonization #NetZero
The Department of Energy is here to support Puerto Rico’s most vulnerable residents during the island's transition to a more reliable, resilient electric grid. ⚡️ We’ve announced up to $365 million to fund solar & battery installations that will power community healthcare facilities and common areas in multifamily housing. Through the Programa de Comunidades Resilientes, more low-income families will have expanded access to critical services and reliable electricity when and where they need it most. As part of our continuing reliability efforts, DLC has implemented a battery energy storage system (BESS) in Hookstown, Beaver County, to improve power reliability for rural communities. This battery helps temporarily power about 100 homes during an outage while crews work on fixing the isolated issue on its circuit. Once the issue is fixed, homes are then switched back to the grid and the battery recharges, ready for future use. The project supports DLC's commitment to grid modernization and enhancing overall resiliency for our customers. For more details on the BESS and future plans, read our newsroom article here, https://lnkd.in/eDyweCjz.

What are the policy limitations to consolidating residential meters into a single meter managed by a cooperative agreement? I know of a few communities in our area where several homes and neighbors, some of which on communal property, are fed by multiple meters. I can imagine integrating a system for neighborhoods like this which use a single, and smaller (amperage) utility supply and using private "coop" meters to each residence to figure out billing. A combination of behind the (single) meter solar and storage could make for a robust micro-grid with less interaction with PG&E (or other utilities).

The #DOE investment of $365 million to fund #solar and #batterystorage installations to power critical healthcare facilities and common areas in multi-family housing in Puerto Rico is not only a sound investment in a more resilient grid, but an investment in #energy equity. Due to #climatechange, hurricanes and intense weather events are becoming more frequent and more destructive, and a more resilient grid system that enables power storage is essential. As more #insurance companies restrict or abandon coverage in our most vulnerable areas, I expect these types of energy systems will become more prevalent.

⚡️Following a series of pre-application consultation events, we’ve submitted a planning application to The Highland Council for the 400kV Carnaig substation project near Loch Buidhe in Sutherland. ⚙️ This substation is a crucial component of our proposed Spittal – Loch Buidhe – Beauly 400kV overhead line, aimed at delivering high-voltage, clean #RenewableEnergy to homes and businesses. Community Liaison Manager, Martin Godwin, commented: “Investing to upgrade our electricity transmission network is crucial if we are to achieve the country’s energy security and clean power objectives, and it’s also a major driver of jobs and economic activity locally and across the north of Scotland”. ➡️ To find out more, visit: https://lnkd.in/gtFu7vvS
