Today, on Human Rights Day, we take a moment to reflect on what truly matters, the dignity, respect, and rights of every individual. In construction, it’s easy to focus on building structures, but we know it’s the people behind those structures who matter most. At Your Trades, we stand for: 👷♂️ Fair wages and safe working conditions for every worker. 🤝 Equal opportunities to grow, regardless of background. ❤️ A workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. This day reminds us that what we build together is more than walls and foundations— A future rooted in fairness, inclusion, and respect for all. Let’s keep working toward a world where human rights are a given, not a goal. 💙 #HumanRightsDay #BuildingWithCare #YourTrades

As we celebrate Professional Women in Building Week, we offer strategies on how to attract more women to the home building industry. Construction sites are dangerous places. Construction work typically involves safety hazards such as falls from heights, trench collapses, electrical shock, being struck by heavy equipment, scaffolding or ladder collapses, injuries from repetitive motions, and hearing damage caused by exposure to loud noises. While both men and women are equally at risk for injuries, these hazards tend to deter women from considering jobs in construction. #ProfessionalWomenInBuildingWeek

If you've ever cared for an elderly parent or patient who uses a wheelchair, you've likely experienced the frustration of navigating facilities/sidewalks that weren't adequately accessible. Losing independence is incredibly tough. Tasks as basic as reaching the mailbox or taking out the trash can become daunting challenges. It's not just physical obstacles but also these societal attitudes that don't prioritize accessibility that compound everyday battles. Imagine walking to your favorite ice cream shop with your family and realizing you have to turn around because the road construction crew overlooked the fact that sidewalks aren't merely a luxury—they're essential for many people. Here at Plasticade, we know that inclusion extends far beyond regulations and is a social responsibility to ensure that road work zones are safe and inclusive for everyone, including individuals with disabilities. Next time your team needs to block a sidewalk for a construction project, remember that not everyone can easily navigate around obstacles. ADA products don't just exist to comply with regulations, but to respect people's needs and abilities. Learn How to Make Sidewalk Construction Sites ADA Compliant: https://lnkd.in/g7d_aQKf #plasticade #accessiblity #roadworkzone #inclusion #disabilities #elderly #compliance #madeintheusa

Often, it's just simple changes needed to create #safety, #inclusion and, as emphasized in the Guardian Australia and by Estelle Grech, autonomy. Reminds me of the work being done by Make Space for Girls and the thoughtfulness in being aware of and attending to the needs of more than half the world's population. #ResearchMatters #EquityandInclusion #UrbanPlanning
Gender Mainstreaming | Engagement | Women's and Girls' Safety | Places for Teenage Girls | Co-founder of Make Space for Girls.
Great article from the Guardian in Australia about lighting and women's safety, quoting the work of Estelle Grech. "“In the end it’s not just [about] darkness. Darkness doesn’t rape or attack women … we should be designing for women’s autonomy, because we want women to feel as free as they can to do whatever they want without changing which way they go, when they go, or what they wear.” Amen to that. https://lnkd.in/eHi5CP7t

🌟 Feeling grateful to be part of such a diverse and inclusive organization like Montare Behavioral Health! 🌈✨ I am truly appreciative of the fact that Montare recognizes the importance of Juneteenth and has given us the day off tomorrow to commemorate this significant day in history. It's refreshing to work for a company that values diversity and inclusion, not just in words but in actions. In a time where many organizations simply pay lip service to DEI initiatives, Montare stands out by fostering a culture that celebrates diversity at all levels. From leadership diversity to embracing individuals of different backgrounds, religions, and identities, Montare truly walks the talk. This gesture of granting us the day off for Juneteenth goes a long way in making me feel valued and appreciated. It's moments like these that reaffirm my pride in being part of such a forward-thinking and inclusive workplace. Here's to more organizations like Montare paving the way for a more diverse and equitable future! 🌟🙌 #DiversityandInclusion #Juneteenth #ProudEmployee #MontareBehavioralHealth"
