If you're anything like us, you were in awe when you saw Rep. Pettersen show up on the Senate floor with her four-week-old son, Sam, after being denied the opportunity to vote remotely. But to borrow words from our CEO, Sarah O'Leary, "It doesn't have to be this hard." Here's why Willow believes in the future of the flexible workplace and, most of all, the future of moms to work and mother on their terms.
At a time when showing up - physically, mentally, and emotionally - is anything but easy, Rep. Pettersen had to do just that as a new mother navigating maternity leave, just four weeks after giving birth. It doesn’t have to be this hard. We have to let go of the myth that remote work or flexibility isn't reasonable participation. It shouldn't take extraordinary efforts from new parents to be engaged and participate in critical moments of their careers. I'm proud that Willow has implemented a truly flexible workplace. More than 70% of the team works remotely, and 100% is supported in managing the demands of work and life. This isn’t a productivity trade-off - it’s an unlock to building a productive and engaged team. We are creating better workplace policies that support—not sideline—moms and their voices. It's hard to fight for yourself when you’re a new mom on or returning from maternity leave. Willow is committed to taking on that fight. We are partnering with Chamber of Mothers, a nonpartisan organization, to advocate for moms' voices to be heard and their needs to be met. You can join our movement at onewillow.com. Because moms deserve better.

Some say you can’t be both a great founder and a great mom. We don’t buy that. Although some days it definitely feels that way… Motherhood and entrepreneurship are both relentless, all-consuming roles. And yet, women across industries are proving every day that you can build businesses while raising families—you just won’t always see their stories in the headlines. Join us for an honest conversation with six powerhouse women, including our incredible CEO, Sarah O'Leary, who have raised both companies and children—sometimes beautifully, sometimes messily, but always on their own terms. In this conversation, we’re going beyond the highlight reel. Our panelists will share the moments of doubt, the unexpected lessons, the trade-offs that no one talks about, and the systems that help them stay in the game. This isn’t about pretending it’s easy. It’s about honoring the reality of what it means to be both a leader and a mother. We’ll cover: How motherhood changes leadership—and why that’s a good thing The impossible expectations of being a "good" mom and a "good" CEO The trade-offs no one talks about—and how to make peace with them What support systems actually make a difference The moments that make it all worth it This is for the founders in the trenches, the moms figuring it out, and anyone who wants to see what real leadership looks like. Come for the honesty. Stay for the solidarity. SIGN UP HERE: https://bit.ly/3Qggkw7

We’re so thrilled (and incredibly proud) to share that our CEO, Sarah O'Leary, has been named among the Trailblazing Leaders in Women’s Health and FemTech by Women of Wearables (wearables, health tech & femtech)! Advancement in women’s health grew leaps and bounds this past year, whether it was our own award-winning wearable pumps and maternal support products or AI-driven fertility aids and cryopreservation techniques for ovarian tissue viability. Big thanks to Women of Wearables, who set out to recognize the minds behind these innovations. Now more than ever, we’re advocating and celebrating women’s rights for a more accessible, inclusive, and most of all, healthier, future. ➡️ Read more about Sarah’s recognition and her cohorts in groundbreaking technologies: https://lnkd.in/e_xevMXh

"A pumping mom is tied up to the wall 20 minutes at a time, 6 times a day, and she’s not spending time that she could be with her baby or being close in a way that she pictured or she hoped, and I love that Willow looked at that problem and thought, we can do better for her." Earlier this week, Lauren S., our VP of Product, sat down with Gold Coast Doulas, LLC to chat all about feeding support systems - why they are important and how you build one - and how Willow is helping moms feed with success. 🎙️ Listen to the full episode: https://lnkd.in/guaSqmya

California is our home, and seeing the unimaginable happen in Los Angeles is heartbreaking. Our hearts go out to all impacted by the fires, including those on our team. We are grateful that our team members in the LA area are safe and thankful for the first responders who are tirelessly working around the clock. Community is everything during times like this, and we value this community so much. Willow is donating breast pumps and other products to Willow moms affected by the fires. If you know an impacted Willow mom, please share our Instagram post with them. We're also donating items for relief efforts in partnership with Baby2Baby and Babylist. We are devastated, but with strength and support, we will come out of this better together. ❤️

Earlier this year, we announced our partnership with Chamber of Mothers: the nonpartisan 501(c)(3) committed to making life better for moms in America. We focused on mobilizing moms across the country in advance of the election — making sure they knew how to support paid family leave, affordable childcare, and improved maternal health policies with their vote. But there’s still more work to be done! So this Giving Tuesday, we’re supporting Chamber of Mothers’ work at the grassroots level — helping them expand their local advocacy chapters to 20 new states. These groups give back to their communities in countless ways, from helping moms screen for postpartum mood disorders to providing in the NICU with essential resources. To champion our work, you can make a donation by texting COMMUNITY to 707070. We’ll match your contribution up to $5k from Dec 3 - 10! You can also learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gE48feHK

ICYMI: Last week, we partnered with Bobbie to address two crucial issues as we head into one of the busiest travel seasons of the year: Empowering Moms: Ensuring that parents know their rights when traveling with breast milk, formula, or feeding essentials like pumps and bottles through Transportation Security Administration (TSA) 🍼 Advocating for the BABES Enhancement Act: Working to secure consistent, safer, and cleaner guidelines for traveling with infant food, so that feeding parents can travel with peace of mind. We've heard horrifying stories from both our team and community members about their challenging TSA experiences, and it's time for change. In just a few days, over 230 letters have already been sent to lawmakers, sharing personal stories and urging them to support the passage of this bill. ✉️ If you'd like to add your voice, Bobbie has made it easy: simply visit the link below to share your experience and make your voice heard. https://lnkd.in/gAUDxamE
✈️ Today begins the busiest travel day of the year and to all the LinkedIn parents with breastmilk, formula or milk in tow through the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) lines--we are here to remind you of your rights as mom or dad feeding an infant on the go. 1. Formula, pumped breastmilk in liquid or frozen form, or pouches more than 3.4oz are considered medically necessary and allowed in carry-ons without a plastic bag. 2. TSA may test liquids but not place anything in them. If you prefer no x-rays than additional screenings may be done. 3. Inform TSA agents to remove items for separate screening. Use clear bottles when possible for easier screening. 4. Cooling accessories like icepacks are allowed with or without breastmilk. Getting all TSA agents trained and informed on how to properly handle an infant's food through screening is the key part of the BABES Enhancement Act proposed to Congress. We're teaming up with Willow Innovations, Inc. to advocate for this bill and encourage our community of parents to share their stories and write a letter in support of passing the BABES Act to their lawmakers. We've made it super simple for you to do... just go to this link below and we've auto-drafted a note with a section where you can fill in any of your personal experiences of traveling with milk. https://lnkd.in/gAUDxamE
