Across the world, too many mothers face barriers to getting the nutrition and care they need, impacting their ability to learn, earn, and thrive. This cycle of undernutrition and poverty increases their risk of infections and life-threatening complications during pregnancy and childbirth. UNICEF has been working globally to ensure that every adolescent girl and woman has access to nutritious food, essential services, and proper healthcare, and supporting mothers before, during, and after pregnancy. However, ongoing global funding cuts risk reversing valuable progress. We need your help to ensure our work towards protecting maternal nutrition efforts continues. Join us. https://lnkd.in/g5VqBbaf

At 6, Yahia lost his legs in a shell explosion in Syria, which left him struggling, not just physically but emotionally. At 13, he is overcoming his trauma and regaining his confidence, thanks to a UNICEF-supported child protection programme and an inclusive school that is accessible to children with disabilities. "I can move around on my own now. There’s even a bathroom I can use without help," he says. #ForEveryChild a fair chance to learn, grow and dream.

After nearly 18 months of war, nearly one million children in Gaza have been repeatedly displaced and deprived of their right to basic services. No aid has been allowed into the Gaza Strip since 2 March, representing the longest period of aid blockage since the start of the war. Food, safe water, shelter and medical care have become increasingly scarce. Humanitarian organisations continue to face attacks that have killed and injured hundreds of aid workers. Despite the ongoing risks, UNICEF and partners are committed to continuing to provide life-saving support for children and their families. The world must not stand by and allow the killing and suffering of children in Gaza to continue. Join us in calling on parties to cease hostilities and reinstate the ceasefire. Humanitarian aid and commercial goods must be allowed to enter and be transported across the Gaza Strip. Sick and injured children must be evacuated for medical care. Civilians, including children and humanitarian workers, and the remaining essential infrastructure must be protected, and the hostages must be released.

    • Cyan text on white background with UNICEF logo: A ceasefire in Gaza must be reinstated. More aid must be allowed to prevent further suffering and loss of life. The lives of nearly one million children are at stake.

Even before last week’s earthquake, over 6.5 million children in Myanmar were in need of humanitarian assistance. 1 in 3 displaced people in the country is a child. Now, the earthquake has added another layer of crisis, pushing already vulnerable families past the brink. UNICEF and partners have begun delivering emergency water, sanitation and hygiene kits, medical kits and nutrition supplies. But the needs are immense. Meng from Cambodia still remembers when getting water meant walking an hour to the nearest stream, sometimes multiple times a day. When her older children helped, they came home too exhausted for school. Thanks to a UNICEF-supported water system, that is no longer their reality. With clean water available at home, Meng has more time to be with her family and her children can focus on their education. “I want to see my children become teachers or doctors,” she says.
