  • “It’s too expensive” is rarely about price. It’s about perceived value. Instead of defending cost, ask, “Compared to what?” or “If price weren’t a factor, would this solve your problem?” You’ll learn fast whether the real issue is budget or hesitation.

  • “Just following up” is sales-speak for “I have nothing valuable to say.” If your follow-ups aren’t moving the deal forward, offering value, or asking clarifying questions, they’re just noise. Instead, send insights: “Last time, you mentioned X — what have you been doing to solve it?” Now that’s a conversation starter!
