Last week, Standard Industries co-CEO David Winter and BMI Group CEO Thomas Casparie held a town hall with employees at BMI’s plant in Villaluenga, Spain. Located in the Toledo region, known for its long history of clay ceramics and pottery production, this plant manufactures roofing tiles from clay that is mined and processed onsite. It also serves as the headquarters for BMI’s Iberia region, which employs nearly 450 people. #BMIGroup

A group of manufacturing and operations employees from Standard Industries’ operating companies recently gathered in Austin, Texas, for Standard’s first Digital Academy, an initiative designed to equip teams across the global Standard ecosystem with the knowledge and skills to accelerate digital and AI transformation within their businesses. This year’s cohort included process, quality, and maintenance engineers, along with key plant contributors and managers from BMI Group, GAF, GAF Energy, Specialty Granules LLC, Siplast, and W. R. Grace. The team explored ways to leverage innovative digital tools to improve manufacturing and operations. Participants also had the opportunity to tour GAF Energy’s manufacturing facility in Georgetown, Texas, seeing digital and AI transformation firsthand.

Last week, our combined Standard and GAF team participated in Cycle for Survival, an annual event that raises funds in support of rare cancer research and clinical trials at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). Our team raised more than $215,000 this year alone, bringing our fundraising efforts to more than $550,000 over the last four years. Thank you to everyone who rode, cheered and donated to this important cause.
