We sat down with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center's Dr. Richard Koche and Dr. Iestyn Whitehouse to learn how epigenetics is revolutionizing rare cancer treatment and why Cycle for Survival funding is so important for their research. Help us continue this vital work by donating before April 15: https://lnkd.in/eReURsF8

Cycle for Survival is the movement to beat rare cancers. Every dollar raised goes to research at MSK.
About us
Cycle for Survival is the movement to beat rare cancers. 100% of every dollar raised is directly allocated to rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) within six months of the close of fundraising annually. Cycle for Survival has raised more than $400 million since it first began in 2007. This milestone reflects the determination and generosity of our passionate community. Approximately 50% of people with cancer are battling a rare cancer, but they often have limited or no treatment options because rare cancer research is drastically underfunded. Together with founding partner, Equinox, Cycle for Survival funding has supported pioneering clinical trials, research studies and major scientific initiatives at MSK, leading to new and better treatment options for patients worldwide. Thank you for sharing your story with our community, Greg. 🧡
When I was sick, I was placed in the peds ward because my cancer was mainly found in children. This was bittersweet as the nurses were nicer and there was a happier ambiance, but unfortunately, I had to see a lot of kids with cancer. On my floor there was a 2-year-old boy who had special squishy sneakers. Every time he walked past my room I would hear “squish squish”. It was adorable. No matter how awful I felt from the chemo, when I heard that noise it brought a smile to my face. A few weeks ago I spoke at Cycle for Survival , a cancer research fundraising event for Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center . My hope one day is that through research, we can find treatments that can get rid of chemotherapy or just use it as a last measure. I never want to see any kids have to go through Chemotherapy again. That is my why.
