Thank you to everyone who joined our partner gathering through SVCF's Capacity-Building and Leadership Investment Program! Your presence and insights made these conversations truly meaningful. At our gatherings in East Palo Alto and San Jose, we explored what movement and power-building look like in 2025. It was inspiring to hear from panelists at Ayudando Latinos A Soñar (ALAS), FAITH IN ACTION BAY AREA, Karat School Project (KSP), PACT: People Acting in Community Together and Asian Law Alliance about how their organizations are driving grassroots change. A special thanks to Casa Círculo Cultural and Carry the Vision for leading us in community wellness moments, reminding us that sustainability starts with care. We hope you enjoyed the meal, the connections and the conversations. The community we’re building together is powerful! #SVCF #CapacityBuilding #PowerBuilding #CommunityLeadership #NonprofitPartners #CBLI

We’re excited to share some great news: Silicon Valley Community Foundation recently invested $1M into Community Vision’s loan fund! This capital is critical in allowing us to continue empowering underinvested and disinvested communities through strategic financing. We are committed to advancing community ownership of community assets as a means towards building justice, power, and equity in California. Partnerships with organizations like SVCF are vital in ensuring we have the resources to continue this work! "Silicon Valley Community Foundation is proud to provide this loan that will support Community Vision’s work to empower marginalized communities and enterprises to build wealth and ownership. By investing in this effort, we hope to foster a future that lifts up those who have been historically excluded from opportunities.” — Moses Zapien, SVCF's Executive Vice President of Community Action, Initiatives and Policy Thank you SVCF for investing in community ownership and empowerment! #CommunityVision #CommunityOwnership #CommunityEmpowerment

SVCF is proud to celebrate the impactful work of our partners at the recent Housing California Conference. Congratulations to Rev. Dr. G. Penny Nixon (Peninsula Solidarity Cohort) for receiving the Housing Justice Award! Penny’s dedication to engaging faith communities in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties has played a vital role in advancing housing justice. Her leadership has mobilized over 30 congregations to dedicate a weekend in May to preach on housing justice and human rights — a powerful call to action that’s inspiring collective change. Dr. Belinda Hernandez-Arriaga (Ayudando Latinos A Soñar ALAS) delivered an insightful presentation on the challenges and barriers to farmworker housing in California. Alongside fellow panelist Jeremy Levine (Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo County), Luisa Cafe (California Coalition for Rural Housing), Eric Payne (State Center Community College District), she highlighted the importance of regional collaboration and shared policy goals to address these issues. We are grateful to our partners Rita Mancera (Puente de la Costa Sur), Judith Guerrero (Coastside Hope) and others — for their dedication to housing solutions that uplift our communities. Together, we are making strides toward a more equitable and inclusive future. #HousingJustice #FarmworkerHousing #CommunityImpact

SVCF sponsored this year's State of the Valley event, hosted by Joint Venture Silicon Valley on Friday at San Jose State. As always, the Joint Venture team delivered insightful data on our region — where the economy is still strong and expanding but still leaves many residents out of the prosperity and promise. Bonus: a sobering yet ultimately hopeful keynote from David Brooks of the The New York Times.
