🚀 ODYSSEUS project Co-organised the 𝐅𝐂𝐓 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩🌍 On 1 April 2025, ODYSSEUS, alongside FLEXI-cross, TENSOR and TENACITy Project, co-organised a successful workshop that brought together Horizon Europe-funded projects focused on innovation in border security, counterterrorism, AI ethics, and standardisation. Over 45 participants joined us online to exchange insights, share lessons learned, and explore future collaboration opportunities. Key highlights from the ODYSSEUS project presentations included the implementation of Digital Travel Credentials (DTC), ethical AI discussions, and contributions to international standardisation efforts. The workshop strengthened partnerships and set the foundation for joint publications and policy-relevant contributions. 🚀 ODYSSEUS project Concludes 1st Implementation Phase From 11th to 12th February 2025, the ODYSSEUS project successfully conducted the Land Pilot 2 at the Komárno, Slovakia-Hungary border, testing cutting-edge technologies to modernize EU 🇪🇺 border management. 🔹 Key Innovations Tested: ✅ AI-powered UAVs for real-time surveillance ✅ Multi-layer biometric identity verification ✅ Automated monitoring via the Decision Support System (DSS) ✅ Pre-registration & Digital Travel Credential (DTC) issuance Collaborating with the Police Force of the Slovak Republic, Hungarian police, and Police Academy in Bratislava, this pilot demonstrated the power of AI-driven security solutions in enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and privacy-compliant border operations. This marks a significant milestone in ODYSSEUS' mission to revolutionize border control through smart, secure, and scalable technologies. 🔜 What’s next? 📢 ODYSSEUS project Pɪʟᴏᴛ Aᴄᴛɪᴠɪᴛɪᴇs ɪɴ Aʟʙɪᴛᴀ & Uɴɢʜᴇɴɪ 🚆🚗 The ODYSSEUS project is moving forward in its implementation phase! In December 2024, two key pilot activities were conducted: 🔹 🚉 Passenger Train Pilot – Ungheni (16-18 Dec 2024) 📍 At the rail border crossing between Romania & Moldova 🔹 🚗 Land Pilot 1 – Albita, eastern Romania 📍 At the Albita road border crossing These pilots marked a major milestone in testing ODYSSEUS project technologies in real-world conditions. From UAV-assisted surveillance and AI-driven identity verification to digital passport solutions, these innovations aim to enhance security and efficiency at border crossings.
