#MercyHousingNorthwest recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Mercy Aviva Crossing in #Tacoma! Once completed, this new family community will provide 129 affordable homes near Tacoma Community College, a transit corridor, and an Opportunity Neighborhood offering residents easy access to services, schools, employment opportunities, and public transportation. I had the incredible honor of emceeing the El Dorado Haven groundbreaking event on behalf of Mercy Housing California. A big thank you to all of our public and private partners on this project.   Witnessing our collective hard work come together at the future site of El Dorado Haven was truly inspiring! This new affordable community, designed by Sacramento-based Anders and Falltrick Architects, will provide new homes for 65 families and veterans when the project opens its doors in spring 2026.  Construction of these rental apartments by Broward Builders, Inc. is already underway. Thank you to our amazing event speakers: EL DORADO COUNTY District III Supervisor Brian Veerkamp, Eric Leimbach with Wells Fargo, Jennifer Rogers from El Dorado County Health and Human Services, and Brigitte, a local Mercy Housing community member who shared her powerful story.  And thank you to Laura Barnes and Board Member Craig Styles of El Dorado County Federated Church which donated the land.  Their dedication to serving the community will leave a lasting impact for generations to come.    Together, we're transforming lives and building strong, thriving communities.

Nominated by Carolyn Mills, Spirit of Mercy Award Winner Lakeisha Johnson recently celebrated 10 years with Mercy Housing. Hired as the Resident Services Coordinator at St. Mary’s Villa in Tennessee, she moved to St. Mary’s Riverview, where she was named one of the Quality Assurance Coordinators in the region. Carolyn explains, “She uses her vast experience to not only help residents but also help other RSCs grow and excel.” When asked what inspires her, Lakeisha answered, “Mercy Housing has rewarded me with continuous opportunities for personal and professional growth.” She feels connected to Mercy Housing’s mission through the relationships she has developed with co-workers and residents. “Through this connection, I have developed a sense of community and belonging.” Join us in celebrating Lakeisha's incredible dedication! What a groundbreaking! Over 350+ #MercyHousingMountainPlains supporters, partners, and community members joined us to celebrate the groundbreaking for 9th & Navajo Street. This #AffordableHousing community will combine 94 permanent supportive homes for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, 96 affordable apartments for families with low incomes, and a new health clinic owned and operated by Denver Indian Health & Family Services. The clinic will provide culturally appropriate healthcare for Native American and Alaskan Native communities and primary healthcare services to the broader neighborhood. Meet Mr. Reason (pictured here), one of the newest residents. He’s thrilled about getting the keys to his new home 🏡 This development offers deeply affordable, service-enriched housing for families, individuals, and those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We are pleased to announce that Hunter's Point Shipyard (HPS) Block 56 has received the Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) for all 73 units! This project with Mercy Housing and Van Meter Williams Pollack (VMWP) highlights our shared dedication to quality, affordable housing. HPS Block 56 offers diverse unit types, including spacious 2+ bedroom layouts and a unique 5-bedroom unit designed for larger families.
