Heard today at #SkollWF during Integrate Health and Last Mile Health co-hosted “Gender Equity: A Core Component of Health for All” — a powerful conversation on why investing in women community health workers is fundamental to building stronger, more equitable health systems. Speakers from Co-Impact, Lwala Community Alliance, The Elders Foundation, Last Mile Health, and Integrate Health shared lived experiences and bold ideas—highlighting the urgent need to break down gender barriers, shift funding power, and protect frontline workers. From global leaders to CHWs themselves, one thing was clear: ➡️ Gender equity must be at the center of health systems transformation.

Integrate Health, founded in 2004, is committed to bringing quality primary healthcare to everyone across francophone West Africa, starting in Togo and Guinea. We exist to prove that a better standard of healthcare is possible. Working alongside governments, we do this by integrating professional Community Health Workers with improved clinic-based care, by integrating a gender and climate lens into our health work, by integrating public and private partnerships. Delivering a community-based primary healthcare model, we improve access to care and reduce maternal, newborn, and child mortality. Fondée en 2004, Santé Intégrée s'est engagée à apporter des soins de santé primaires de qualité à toutes les personnes de l'Afrique francophone de l'Ouest, en commençant par le Togo et la Guinée. Notre raison d'être est de montrer qu'il est possible d'améliorer la qualité des soins de santé. En travaillant aux côtés des gouvernements, nous y parvenons en intégrant des agents de santé communautaires professionnels à des soins cliniques améliorés, en intégrant l'égalité des genres et la justice climatique dans notre quotidien, et en intégrant des partenariats publics et privés à notre fonctionnement. En proposant un modèle de soins de santé primaires basé sur la communauté, nous améliorons l'accès aux soins et réduisons la mortalité maternelle, néonatale et infantile.

Au début du mois, j'ai eu la merveilleuse opportunité d'animer un atelier de trois jours sur la cartographie de la mise en œuvre avec notre équipe à Kara, au Togo. J'ai été très impressionnée par l'engagement de chacun, le travail acharné et les excellentes questions posées lors des discussions. Nous avons terminé l'atelier avec cinq modèles logiques de mise en œuvre détaillés que Santé Intégrée / Integrate Health pourra utiliser lors du lancement de nouveaux programmes ! ___ Earlier this month, I had the wonderful opportunity to lead a 3-day implementation mapping workshop with our team in Kara, Togo. I was so impressed with everyone's engagement, hard work, and great discussion questions. We ended the workshop with five detailed implementation logic models for Integrate Health to use when launching new programs!

🇬🇳🇹🇬 This week, Integrate Health welcomed Dr. Lancine Kourouma, District Health Director from Kouroussa, Guinea, for a 10-day visit to our program sites in Kara, Togo. Dr. Kourouma observed Community Health Workers delivering care in remote areas, held in-depth discussions with Togolese district health authorities, and reflected on how the lessons from Togo could accelerate efforts underway in Kouroussa. This wasn’t just a field visit—it was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we break down borders to build up health systems. Integrate Health is proud to create spaces for government partners to collaborate and share experiences. Because the path to scaling quality primary healthcare starts when local leaders share what works—and often, the solutions we’re looking for are already working next door.
