  • Real Operation Example! A member had an accident at a ski resort which resulted in a broken pelvis and fractured tailbone. After surgery was completed abroad, the member wanted to recover in the hospital of choice, closer to their home. Global Rescue organized and paid for his flight back home (which he needed to be laying flat for) and also sent two medical escorts from our team. Flights like these are not cheap, don't get stuck with a hefty bill and be forced to figure it out on your own. These transportation expenses did not come out of our member's pockets. Global Rescue has your back.

  • Check out these operations we discuss in our recent Mission Brief Blog👇 https://lnkd.in/e_AQ72wQ 🪂 Paragliding Wipeout in Mexico An Oregon member crash-landed while paragliding near Santa Fe, Mexico, ending up with broken ribs and a femur fracture. After surgery at Centro Medico, we flew him home to Portland for recovery. 🏔️ Heart Scare on Aconcagua A member from Houston experienced an irregular heartbeat (AFib) while at Plaza de Mulas, Argentina. Helicopter + ambulance = quick care at Hospital Santa Isabel de Hungría, then safely discharged. ❄️ Snowmobile Mishap in Yellowknife One of our Canadian members hurt his lower back after a snowmobile crash in remote Yellowknife. We flew him to a better-equipped hospital where scans showed strained muscles. He’s now on the mend. 🧗 Altitude Trouble on Kilimanjaro A trekker from Dubai got seriously sick at Karanga Camp—nausea, vomiting, and signs of altitude sickness. We choppered her to the hospital, where she was treated for gastritis and mild HAPE. Discharged and doing well! 🏍️ Bike Crash in Papua New Guinea A Los Angeles rider took a spill in Goroka and fractured his tibia. After local care raised concerns, we brought him back to L.A. for proper orthopedic treatment. 🏔️ High-Altitude Emergency on Aconcagua A Bangladeshi member developed HAPE and AMS at Plaza de Mulas. A rapid helicopter and ambulance combo got him to a Mendoza hospital. After treatment, he was cleared to recover locally. 🏍️ Serious Motorcycle Wreck in Mexico After crashing his bike in El Comitán, a U.S. member suffered broken ribs and a possible punctured lung. We arranged surgery locally, then flew him to Denver for advanced care. 🧗 Kilimanjaro Climb Gone Wrong Severe altitude sickness hit a Papua New Guinea member at Barranco Camp. A fast evac to KCMC revealed mild HAPE—he recovered well after treatment. These missions underscore Global Rescue's commitment to providing rapid medical evacuations and support to travelers facing emergencies worldwide. Read more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e_AQ72wQ

  • Essential Pre-Travel Health Checklist👇 Before traveling internationally, it is crucial to undergo a pre-travel health screen to ensure you are protected against potential health risks. This screening involves several key elements: ✅Standard Vaccinations 👉 Make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccinations like MMR, tetanus, polio, etc ✅Region-Specific Vaccinations 👉 You may need a yellow fever, or typhoid vaccination to enter certain countries like Brazil or Indonesia! ✅Medical History Review 👉 Your doctor can assess existing medical conditions like asthma, diabetes, or allergies. ✅Potential Travel Risks 👉 Think about altitude sickness, malaria, and mosquito-borne diseases! ✅Blood Tests 👉 Serology tests may be conducted to check immunity levels for hepatitis A and B, ensuring you do not need booster shots. ✅Prescription Medication Management 👉 Check to make sure you do not need refills and carry the prescription in original packaging! See a previous post and blog to learn about what medications may be confiscated upon arrival! Believe it or not, you can find WAY more information here: https://lnkd.in/errT56u9
