💎Gem tips from Elle Meza and Vivek Reddy on how to navigate selling into HR, especially in this environment! Some highlights from our FamTech.org convo yesterday: ✨ It’s not just the actual sales cycle with enterprise - you need to be influencing enterprise roadmap 18 months in advance. As Elle shares from her time leading companies like Docusign, she’s planning 18 months in advance on the key priorities for the company (ie. women’s health) and you’d need to be seeding her with ideas then. ✨ Find the key transition points & growing pains a company is going through - ie. transitioning from a PEO - and jump in on that “prescient need”. That was a key reason why Vivek had a timely need for support on leave management with Cocoon! ✨If you’re piloting, scope down as much as possible - keep the population you’re supporting super targeted (ie. California employees in a few other states in the early days for Cocoon). Thank you Elle & Vivek for these insider insights! P.S. If anyone was curious what they look like as Ghibli heroes, check ‘em out ☺️

  • Families—and especially moms—deserve better than burnout. Our most recent member newsletter hit close for so many (too many) of us. The topic: spring cleaning for the mental load. Around here, we know the mental load is absolutely not just about remembering the grocery list. It’s the endless coordination of doctor’s appointments, school logistics, meal planning, emotional labor… Too often, moms are left carrying the weight. A recent snapshot from The Fair Play Policy Institute and USC’s Public Exchange confirmed what so many of us already know: dads overwhelmingly take the lead in… taking out the garbage. But change is happening. FamTech founders are stepping up with solutions—automating household coordination, making delegation easier, and helping families share responsibilities more equitably. Here are a few: Outsourcing Tasks via AI and Human Assistants ⭐ Duckbill – The personal assistant powered by both real humans and AI ⭐ TULA Life Balanced – Task management for errands, meal planning, event coordination & more ⭐ Faye – Connects busy families with underemployed parents who can tackle their to-do lists ⭐ Sundays – Executive assistant service for working parents ⭐ Sage Haus is a platform helping busy parents reclaim their time by outsourcing the mental load and creating home systems to support a healthy division of labor ⭐ honeycomb. unlocks opportunities for parents to share the mental and logistical load ⭐ Strongsuit helps companies attract, support, and retain top talent with our personal assistant that lets them outsource everyday tasks so they can focus on what matters Delegating & Managing Household Responsibilities ⭐ Fairshare – Helps couples split chores and childcare ⭐ Coexist – A relationship app for better coordination at home ⭐Tend Task Task supports equal partnership by carefully cultivating your partnership with the soil, nutrients, and water it needs to thrive ⭐ hampr – On-demand laundry marketplace with a peer-to-peer engine Easing the Burden of Managing the Family Schedule ⭐ Hearth Display – Digital display that simplifies organizing for busy families ⭐ Maple – All-in-one family app with a shared calendar, task list, meal planner & AI ⭐ Poppins – Personal AI that keeps track of tasks and appointments ⭐ Orgo – AI-powered shared calendar for active families ⭐ Jam Family Calendar – A family calendar app for organizing events, tasks, and appointments ⭐ Milo – AI-powered assistant that takes on the invisible load for parents If you’re working on solutions that ease the weight, let’s connect. And if you’re ready to surround yourself with fellow founders and investors shaping the future of care, please join us in the FamTech community. 🚀

  • ✨ A major milestone for the #FemTech and #CareEconomy communities! ✨ Congrats to Willow Innovations, Inc. and Elvie on this incredible union of two pioneering brands dedicated to improving maternal health and women’s wellness. We can’t wait to see what’s next.

Two iconic brands. Two Femtech trailblazers. Two companies built on the belief that women deserve better health technology and innovation. And now, we are one. I am honored to announce that today, Willow Innovations, Inc. has acquired Elvie, and together, we can take our missions for improving maternal health to the next level, as a global, multi-category, connected product platform.  The women’s health category needs more players of scale, and our two companies are truly stronger together. • 🎯 Selling to HR: What Founders Get Wrong (and How to Get It Right) If you’re building in FamTech, you need to understand how HR buyers think. But breaking into this market isn’t always straightforward. You might be wondering: ❌ Who actually makes the decisions? ❌ How long does a deal really take? ❌ What makes a pitch land—or flop? That’s exactly what we’re tackling in this week’s "HR We There Yet?" bootcamp session, led by Lauren Dai—cofounder of Cocoon and FamTech.org’s Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Lauren has been in the trenches, selling into HR from the ground up, and she’s sharing what she’s learned—along with real HR buyers who’ve been on the other side of the table. We’ll cover: ✅ HR roles & acronyms 101—who’s who in HR and how decisions get made ✅ Real sales cycles—touchpoints, budgets, and common roadblocks ✅ Standing out in HR tech—how to craft a wedge, a hook, and clear ROI ✅ Exclusive insights from HR buyers—what resonates, what turns them off, and how they evaluate unproven solutions Plus, we’re bringing in two powerhouse HR leaders, Vivek Reddy of Benchling and Elle Meza of Elle Meza Consulting, who have led teams at high-growth tech companies and are known for being early adopters of new solutions. They’ll give us an inside look at the buyer’s journey—what actually moves the needle when selling to HR and what sends pitches straight to the "no" pile. 💡 Join us Wednesday, 4/2, at 3 PM ET—we’ll drop the registration link in the comments. I greatly appreciated the chance to speak alongside Jason Resendez (President and CEO of National Alliance for Caregiving) and Donald Knight (GSVP People & Culture, Warner Bros Discovery) at Transform last week on a topic I'm deeply passionate about - caregiving and the sandwich generation. We discussed how organizations can intentionally build a culture of care by rethinking their support for caregivers and highlighted the need for policy changes like expanded paid leave and caregiver tax credits to better reflect the modern realities faced by many in the sandwich generation. A special thank you to Deborah Hanus and the Sparrow team for amplifying caregiver voices and championing this important topic. "Caregiving isn't just an act of service, it's an act of leadership." - Donald I left Transform feeling inspired by the incredible people leaders, founders, and innovators who are redefining how we work, build, and lead. It was a special highlight to see the San Francisco Giants being recognized as Employer Brand of the Year by the Transform community. A big shout out to Samara Jaffe, Cal Keizur, Jennifer Cooper, and everyone who made this event so impactful, and to Lindsay Verstegen, Erin Dangerfield, Sarah Kim-Wang, Anna Steffeney, Tina Gupta, Brian Little, Lucia Guillory, PhD for the genuine conversations that not only "filled my Transform-newbie cup" but also affirmed that (to borrow Lindsay's words) “uniting teams and people for a higher purpose has never been more vital.” #Transform2025

Huge thank you Juli Insinger cofounder of Carrot Fertility for joining us yesterday to share your insights on spinning up founder led sales! If I had to pull one takeaway from our conversation yesterday, it’s how to crawl, walk, run. Great tips along these lines sparked by questions from our community, including: 🛠️ Javeste Dulcio @StorkFund on when/how to start leveraging brokers (btw we have an upcoming session on this *exact* topic coming up on 4/16 featuring the incredible Kaleana Quibell!) 💸 Mitul Desai @The Care Hack on how to price for your early customers (thank you Juli Insinger for practical tips on how to build in flexibility/discounts while setting the right expectations for the future + Anna Steffeney on how she framed “pilots” as “evaluations” with enterprise customers in the early days of Unum | Leave Logic) If you missed the convo check out the recording here: https://lnkd.in/gGpRn2TJ
