"As a reminder, I’m unreachable until 9:15am PT (school drop-off duty!). If anything urgent pops up before then, you can reach out to X or Y, our East Coast teammates." "I’d love to collaborate here, but our babysitter’s out sick and I’m solo for the afternoon. Looks like we’re all free at 10AM tomorrow — reconvene then?" "Yes, that is Bluey you’re hearing in the background. Next slide, please." We recently shared how (seemingly) tiny acts of honesty can shift workplace culture — especially for caregivers. Because when one person names what’s real, it gives everyone else permission to do the same. No one should have to apologize for being a parent. Or a partner. Or a friend. A person with a full life and a whole spectrum of responsibilities to go along with it. 👉 So, what’s one tiny act of honesty you’ve used at work lately (parenting or otherwise)? #Parenting #WorkLifeBalance

Joining 4 p.m. calls on mute, camera off, so you can start dinner. Checking texts to make sure each kid catches the right bus to their after-school program. Slack messages that start with “Quick thing before you sign off…” just as you’re stepping away for the day. For parents, late afternoons can feel like trying to change lanes while the road is still being built — and pretending like that’s a totally normal, not-at-all-stressful way to drive. At Sundays, we're passionate about building a world where parents can parent out loud. Where saying ‘no’ to meetings at 3 p.m. — and telling your colleagues why — doesn't derail your career. Where you can block time for school concerts without feeling the pull to hide event details from your calendar. Tiny acts of honesty. That's how we change workplace culture for parents. A 'brb, school pick-up' Slack status. A 'Focused on parent duty, I'll get back to you tomorrow morning' auto reply for EOD emails. It may feel small, but every time we acknowledge the reality of what parenting requires — in the afternoon, and every hour of every day — we're taking a radical step forward. ☀️

Helping parents get time back | CEO at Sundays

Women are 4x more likely to get an autoimmune disease The system is literally making us sick. And the leading cause is chronic stress. This shouldn’t be a surprise. We expect women to: → Manage the invisible labor of households (meals, schedules, doctor’s appointments, laundry) → Be the default parent, even when working full-time → Excel in their careers → Absorb the emotional weight of relationships, friendships, and caregiving → Stay pleasant, accommodating, and likable—no matter how exhausted they are 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬. And our bodies are breaking under the weight of it. Autoimmune diseases like lupus, Hashimoto’s, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis are disproportionately affecting women. Stress isn’t just a feeling, it’s a physiological response. 🚨 It doesn’t have to be this way. ✅ Workplaces can stop penalizing caregiving. ✅ Partners can step up and share the load. ✅ Society can stop expecting women to be everything to everyone. Women’s bodies are waving a red flag. It’s time to listen. What’s one thing that has helped you reduce stress in a system that wasn’t built for you? -- I’m Ashley Chang, co-founder of Sundays, an executive assistant service for working parents. We help parents get focused time back at work and quality time back with family. *I’m currently on parental leave myself! I will be popping in here occasionally, but my wonderful EA is sharing previously written posts in the meantime! ☀️

  • We believe in the ripple effect of what we do. Of course, supporting families means enabling parents and kids to thrive. But we’ve also witnessed time and again how that support trickles down to friends, colleagues, and neighbors. When families aren’t overwhelmed by logistics, they can meaningfully invest in relationships. Inside the family and out. When they’re not burnt out, parents are able to show up for friends during hard times. Spend time mentoring young professionals. Join the PTA. It’s simple, really. When families get the support they need, the whole community wins. #Parenting #CommunityBuilding

Want to support caregivers on your team? Start by ✨ caring out loud ✨ We often think real change requires big policy shifts. Parental leave. Flexible hours. Childcare stipends. But before policies, there’s 𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. ✅ Acknowledge the invisible labor caregivers do outside of work. ✅ Make space for real conversations about it. ✅ Remind leaders why this matters—because culture fuels policy. When we normalize talking about caregiving, we lay the foundation for real change. What are your favorite examples of caring out loud? 👇 -- I’m Ashley Chang, co-founder of Sundays, an executive assistant service for working parents. We help parents get focused time back at work and quality time back with family. *I’m currently on parental leave myself! • Everyone is way too busy. But for families with parents working outside the home, Sunday is often one of the busiest days of the whole week. It’s the gear-up for five days of tight schedules and very fragile logistics systems. The operational wheels are already turning by mid-morning. ** Who’s on pickup duty this week? ** Did anyone drop a surprise 9AM meeting on my calendar over the weekend?  ** What are the kids eating for lunch this week? ** Is tomorrow library day or PE...? It’s a day of prep. It’s trying to get ahead of the curve while knowing the curve is always changing. At Sundays, we *get* the work it takes to keep a family and a career moving at the same time. The constant need to “get ahead of it” while never quite feeling like you thought far enough ahead. First of all, you’re doing great. Really. Second, this is exactly why we’re busy building and perfecting operational systems to make that load lighter. Because Sundays shouldn’t have to be so scary. So, what do your Sundays look like right now? How would they be different with more support? 🤔 💭

  • If nearly 50% of American families have two parents working outside the home… why do so few systems plan for it? At Sundays, we try to flip that script. 🛠️ We embrace flexible schedules. We hire people who genuinely *love* to get stuff done — and then we let them get to it. 🕒 We don’t book crucial meetings at 3pm (IYKYK). 🎒 We respect the juggle of surprise school emails and sick days. Because attending to — and acknowledging! — your other priorities should never feel like a risky career move. We’re constantly thinking about how we can adapt to better support the parents on our team. And we'll keep working at it until we've found the best possible solutions. Because planning our future with both work and home life in mind just makes sense. For us, for our clients, and for our families. 👋 How is your team designing with real life in mind?
