Through collaboration with DC-area hospitals, community health organizations, and wraparound partners, our investments in maternal health are both wide-reaching and deeply rooted—focusing not only on clinical care but also on a full spectrum of supports that work together to improve outcomes for moms, babies, and families across DC. Since launching PCHI in 2020, the Clark Foundation has committed more than $128 million—all with the goal of ensuring that one day, everyone has access to the same high-quality health care choices. Over the last five years, our partner, Community of Hope (CoH), has expanded its transformational maternal health services, connecting more mothers and babies in the Washington, DC area with the comprehensive and holistic care they deserve. The A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation recently committed $4 million to help expand this critical work and extend the reach of CoH's innovative maternal and postpartum care model. With additional investments made by The J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation and The Bedford Falls Foundation, CoH will have a total of $5.5 million to ensure the sustainability of their innovative model. Our collective commitment will continue to ensure mothers have access to ultrasounds at all health centers, introduce high-risk obstetric services in Ward 8, and maintain perinatal care coordination across the board.
