Today, we pause to honor Gold Star spouses - those who have endured the unimaginable. Your loved one served with courage, and you live with that sacrifice every day. We know that grief doesn’t end when the flag is folded. It lives on in the quiet moments, in the memories, and in the love that never fades. At The Headstrong Project, we’re honored to provide confidential, trauma-focused care to Gold Star spouses and family members - because no one should carry that weight alone. To every Gold Star spouse: We see you. We remember your loved one. We know that freedom isn’t free. If you need help, please connect to care - https://lnkd.in/e5rfRCSu

April is the Month of the Military Child - a time to recognize the strength and sacrifices of military-connected kids. Frequent moves, school transitions, and family separations are just a few of the challenges they navigate. At The Headstrong Project, we understand that military service impacts the whole family. This month, we honor military children by recognizing their resilience and the dedication of those who raise them. 💜 💜 💜 #MonthOfTheMilitaryChild #MoreThanAThankYou #MilitaryFamilies

Grateful to have been represented by our Sr. Director, Network Clinical Operations Kathryn Dosch, LPC, at the Veterans Stand Down in Mesa, AZ earlier this week. This event brought vital services directly to veterans in the community, and we’re proud to stand alongside so many organizations committed to their care. Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and served!

Our CEO Daniel Kaepernik and Chief Clinical Officer Amy Moes Williams, PhD were honored to participate in the final Veterans Summit hosted by the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation. Year after year, this event has brought together a trusted community of veteran-serving organizations and leaders to connect, reflect, and collaborate. Through this annual gathering, the Clark Foundation has built partnerships rooted in trust, transparency, and shared mission. As the Foundation sunsets, we’re reflecting on the legacy it leaves behind. Clark’s investment in our work has strengthened our ability to provide no-cost, stigma-free treatment for veterans living with PTSD and trauma. Their belief in our mission changed what’s possible - for us and for those we serve. From all of us at The Headstrong Project - thank you, Clark Foundation. You’ve helped shape the future of veteran care in America. We’re stronger because of your partnership, and we’ll carry your legacy forward.

Honored to be part of Face the Fight’s first in-person coalition meeting in San Antonio! Since 2022, The Headstrong Project has been grateful to receive funding from Face The Fight allowing us to train our clinical network in suicide prevention and expand services for at-risk veterans and active duty service members. Being among such great partners has reinforced our commitment to ensuring veterans not only have access to care but receive the support that truly makes a difference. One of the most powerful takeaways from this event came from Joe Geraci, PhD, Psychologist, who challenged us to go beyond simply providing what we have and instead focus on giving veterans what they need. That mindset is at the heart of our work, and it was inspiring to engage with so many dedicated leaders who share that vision. Special thanks to our amazing technical assistance team Brooke Fina, LCSW, BCD and Jennifer Vieira at UTHSCSA as well as all the incredible panelists and partners working together to drive meaningful change. Excited to carry this momentum forward! Honored to be part of an incredible Veteran’s Mental Health & Wellness Panel at the CCME Conference in DC! A huge shoutout to Adam Rocke for his outstanding moderation—he didn’t just guide the conversation but actively engaged military educators in the room, making it a truly dynamic discussion. We tackled veteran mental health from all angles—benefits, education, training, and research—ensuring a well-rounded perspective on how to better support those who have served. As a healthcare provider, I was proud to bring The Headstrong Project’s mission into the conversation, emphasizing the critical role of accessible, high-quality mental health care. Grateful for the opportunity to exchange insights with such a dedicated group of professionals. These conversations are essential to driving real change!
