The next generation of leaders just pulled up a seat at the table. Thanks to our Purpose Lab programme, two student ambassadors are now embedded in working groups at TP UK & Ireland. This is what Purpose Lab was built for. To bridge the gap between education and employment. To give students real-world experience in real-time business environments. To help forward-thinking employers access the insights of tomorrow’s talent - today. So we’re thrilled to share that: • Freya C. (University of Chester) has joined the TP Wellbeing Working Group, bringing her lived experience with mental health and her volunteer work with CSASS. • Sasha Iqbal (Royal Holloway, University of London) is now part of the TP Generations Together Working Group, contributing her background in children’s rights and her passion for inclusive, intergenerational dialogue. These placements were made possible through the Purpose Lab’s structured engagement with employers like Teleperformance, who are committed to developing inclusive, future-facing workplaces. As Purpose Lab ambassadors, Freya and Sasha will: ↳ Join monthly working group meetings ↳ Contribute to wellbeing and mentoring initiatives ↳ Offer student-led insight on strategy ↳ Help track progress and impact over time This is more than a placement. It’s preparation for leadership. It’s how change starts - by including new voices in meaningful conversations. If you're a university, college, or employer ready to explore how Purpose Lab can support your goals, contact Karen Quinn on LinkedIn or via email: karen@thisispurpose.com ♻️ Repost to champion early career access and student voice in the workplace. And hear first-hand from Lisa Dolan, TP's Regional VP of Employee Experience, on why they've chosen to work through our Purpose Lab 👇 https://lnkd.in/eiPBitPP #FutureOfWork #EarlyCareers #StudentVoice #WorkplaceInclusion #LeadershipDevelopment #EmployerEngagement #PurposeDriven

What I learned as a Purpose Coalition Student Ambassador (and why it matters for every business leader): 1. Real talk matters: - The Purpose Lab wasn’t about theory. It was about real students, real struggles, and real ideas that can shape better workplaces. 2. Inclusion isn’t optional: - When diverse voices are heard (especially from underrepresented groups) companies become better, stronger, more human. 3. Students are juggling more than you think: - Studies, work, family. We’re balancing it all. And we’re still ready to contribute big ideas. 4. Collaboration > speeches: - Being an ambassador isn’t about spotlight moments. It’s about building bridges through honest conversation. 5. Lived experience is insight: - Want to design support systems that actually work? Start by listening to the people living them. Businesses that tune in today will win tomorrow. This post has been adapted from a blog post by Jakub Cyrwus, a Purpose Coalition Student Ambassador and Global Business student at GBS. Read in full here: https://lnkd.in/eyM6MVte

🎯 Our #LeadingWithPurpose Spotlight interview series sees organisational leaders explain what leading with purpose means to them and how they strive to make their organisation a force for good in society. 👨💼 For Mark Horsley, CEO of Northern Gas Networks, it stems from a personal journey: "After spending 50 years in the energy sector, starting as a Craft Apprentice and working my way to CEO, I find tremendous purpose in sharing this wealth of experience with others and inspiring the next generation of industry leaders." 💫 His leadership philosophy was shaped by valuable experience: "I have found, which should be of no surprise, that the key success factor is communication and being able to explain the 'why' and the 'how'. So often, as we are still seeing today, decisions are driven by spreadsheet analysis and somehow the people perspective becomes lost." ⚡ "Energy is truly the lifeblood of our country – it powers our businesses, feeds our families, and keeps us warm in our homes. Throughout my career, I've come to recognise that there can be no greater privilege than being part of an industry that stands at the very heart of our communities." 🌱 "As the leader of an anchor organisation, I take great pride in supporting our communities and, wherever possible, helping to shape and influence positive change within them. I'm especially motivated by our organisation's ability to take a leading role both regionally and nationally in ensuring a fair energy transition as we collectively work toward achieving Net Zero goals." 📖 Read the full mini-interview here 👇 https://lnkd.in/eeudvCNa

That’s why the Purpose Coalition has partnered with leading accountancy firms to launch a ground-breaking initiative: Breaking Down Barriers to Accountancy. This project brought together 11 accountancy firms and education institutions to tackle four key areas: 📌 Outreach 📌 Access 📌 Recruitment 📌 Progression The result? A report packed with best practices and recommendations to make the sector more inclusive. 👥 31,000 employees driving change across essential public services. 📊 Data-driven strategies improving careers, wellbeing, and community impact. Serco UK is proving that business can be a force for good - and our joint report lays out exactly how. But this is just the first step. The report doesn’t just highlight what’s working - it sets the stage for what’s next. Through its recommendations and continued work with The Purpose Coalition, Serco UK is committed to going further, breaking down even more barriers, and creating lasting impact where it matters most. Our Chair, Justine Greening, said: The Purpose Coalition’s partnership with Serco on this report has been invaluable. It has a crucial role to play in tackling many of the economic and social challenges we are facing today, including poor social mobility, and, at a time of heightened geopolitical uncertainty, it also plays a critical part in supporting the UK’s defence capabilities. With a reach across sectors and geographical areas, it is on the frontline when it comes to delivering opportunity across the country. Its commitment to ensuring that it is accessible to everyone, whatever their background, and the innovative and sustainable solutions it has developed to tackle inequality, as evidenced in the report we are launching today, serve as a fantastic blueprint that other organisations can follow. The breadth of the recommendations in the report is testimony to the range of Serco’s social impact, the high standards it is already achieving and its ambition to go even further, targeting its efforts to the areas of most need. They also highlight how tracking and measuring its work is so important in producing positive outcomes for its colleagues, clients and the communities it serves. And Serco UK's Chief People & Culture Officer, Shaun Stacey, said: Serco’s commitment to making a meaningful difference extends across every contract, community, and colleague in the UK. Our work is about delivering complex essential services in a way that supports the needs of citizens, while maximising positive social and economic outcomes. We are delighted to have worked in partnership with the Breaking Down Barriers Commission on this report to assess our social impact against the Commission’s Goals. As we look ahead, we remain focused on embedding sustainability and social impact into every aspect of our business, ensuring that we continue to deliver impact in ways that are meaningful, measurable, and lasting. From second-chance employment for ex-offenders to digital inclusion for frontline workers, this is about real change, backed by data, and driven by action. Serco UK is also strengthening SMEs, creating more opportunities for businesses to thrive, and defending the nation through its critical work in the defence sector—ensuring safety, security, and resilience across the UK. 📖 Read more to see how Serco UK is building the future of public service 👇 https://lnkd.in/eMU_rKHf
