  • Special Recognition Award At the Phoenix Excellence Awards held on the 12th September, there was a special surprise award for Che Earl. Che was instrumental in not only organising this event but countless other events as well. The rest of the team organising the event were in charge of keeping it a secret from him. “I had absolutely no idea despite a few close calls where I could’ve found out. “The team hid it very well! So it was a really, really special moment. It was quite overwhelming as well, for me to receive something at an event I organised. I was really shocked but feel very honoured to have received it.” Che is considered a bit of a one man band from PHOENIX when it comes to events, but for large-scale projects like that, there’s absolutely no way he could do it without the support of so many others in the business and externally. Che says that the award definitely reflects the wider team as well. He said that his focus is to keep raising the bar. For them, it’s not about repeating but improving, always making the next one better. They learn from both mistakes and successes, aiming to enhance the experience each time. Whilst presenting Che with the award, Steve Anderson, Managing Director at PHOENIX, pointed out that this award highlights his behind-the-scenes work which can sometimes go unnoticed. Che has said that receiving the award motivates him to keep pushing forward, going above and beyond with each event to create the best possible experience. “I was really shocked, really overwhelmed and super grateful to be recognised by my peers. It was a really special moment that I’ll never forget.”
