Does the world have the infrastructure that it needs? If not, what are we doing about it? In the latest edition of the CROSS-UK Newsletter, Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE)'s President, Professor Jim Hall, explores these questions and highlights why knowledge sharing is fundamental to ensuring safety and resilience in our built environment including how: 🔹 reporting safety concerns isn’t just a best practice - it’s an ethical responsibility. 🔹 collaboration is the key to preventing failures like the Polcevera Viaduct collapse. 🔹 platforms like CROSS-UK enable professionals to confidentially share risks and insights, strengthening industry wide learning. Professor Hall also touches on the ICE’s 2025 State of the Nation report and the complex challenges that infrastructure faces—maintenance of ageing assets, decarbonisation, climate change and evolving technologies. 📖 Read the full editorial: https://lnkd.in/eTyGR7cV #CROSSUK #InfrastructureSafety #KnowledgeSharing #EngineeringEthics
