Since being appointed as the operator for services between Oxford and Milton Keynes last month, we have been busy engaging with route stakeholders including the community around our new station in Winslow. 🚉 Recent engagement has included taking Callum Anderson MP (Buckingham and Bletchley) and Winslow Town Council on a tour of the new station, speaking to over 70 residents at Winslow Town Annual Meeting last night and delivering rail safety talks for over 1000 children at local Winslow schools. We will shortly begin work to fit out the station with customer facilities including an open plan ticket desk, ticket vending machines and a gateline. We have also launched a Winslow Residents Survey to get feedback from the local community on the new rail service and facilities at the station. This information will be used to work with partners to deliver a community engagement and integrated travel strategy for the station. The survey closes on 30 April so please provide your views if you live within 10 miles of Winslow here: https://lnkd.in/ehpY4nKv If you are a route stakeholder and would like a briefing on our mobilisation plans, please reach out to stakeholders@chilternrailways.co.uk. #winslow #buckinghamshire #engagement

It was wonderful to launch the third and final art installation for Marylebone on Display last week. 🎨 Parents and young people who participated in the project were able to see their work at London Marylebone for thousands of commuters to view whilst passing through the station. 🚉 We joined in the celebration alongside Young Westminster Foundation and Sketch Appeal Cic. The scheme was supported by our Community Investment Fund, which offers grants towards improving local areas by communities. #display #marylebone #station

We are proud that our Safeguarding and Security Manager, Rehana Khawaja, has been nominated in the Women in Rail Awards this year. 🏆 Rehana embodies everything any company would want in a railway colleague. In her 20-year career at Chiltern, Rehana has helped countless colleagues and customers through her leadership, safety and safeguarding work. In addition, she has raised thousands for charitable causes. An example is her ‘Between Stations Walk’ - starting in February 2024, Rehana, alongside her colleague Laura, embarked on 13 walks - a total of 156 miles - between London Marylebone and Birmingham Moor Street to raise thousands for Safeline UK and Railway Children. Rehana recently clocked up 20 years working at Chiltern Railways, and such is her commitment to and admiration of the station, she even changed her middle name to ‘Marylebone’ in 2024. 🚉 She is shortlisted for the Adeline Ginn MBE Unsung Hero Award, which celebrates railway colleagues who have gone above and beyond in the call of duty. 👏 The awards ceremony takes place at the historic Roundhouse in Camden on Thursday 15 May. Good luck Rehana! #womeninrail #award #nomination

High Wycombe Station and its grounds have undergone a makeover following an adoption by local organisations Chiltern Rangers and Buckinghamshire New University. 🎨 Funded through our Community Investment Fund, the group has embarked on a year-long improvement project to bring a sense of community to the station by creating new artwork and delivering planting schemes. As part of their studies, the University’s art and design students created 20 pieces of artwork to reflect the town’s heritage. Now adorning the station's overbridge, these illustrations and designs include High Wycombe’s High Street, its infamous swan, chairmaking heritage, the Dashwood Mausoleum, and the station itself. An unveiling took place at High Wycombe yesterday (Monday 31 March), with representatives of Chiltern Railways, Chiltern Rangers, Buckinghamshire New University and art and design students in attendance. #highwycombe #community #art

We are proud to have launched two fantastic new community artwork projects as part of our Community Investment Fund (CIF) this week, bringing creativity and community spirit to our network and taking our stations closer to the communities that they serve. 🎨 Oxford Parkway – Art Exhibition On Thursday, we unveiled a youth-led exhibition at Oxford Parkway station, celebrating the vibrant local community. This project, in partnership with Oxfordshire Community Rail Partnership, celebrates the vibrancy of local communities and explores themes of place and identity. It’s a testament to the power of young voices and the importance of public spaces in sharing local heritage and culture. 📚 Great Missenden – Roald Dahl: Misbourne Mural This morning, we unveiled a brand-new 10-metre-long mural at Great Missenden Station, inspired by the life and work of Roald Dahl. This stunning piece is the result of a collaboration between The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre, The Misbourne School, and mural artist Sólveig Magnúsdóttir. Students played a central role in the entire process – from artist selection to creative workshops – learning valuable skills and bringing a splash of magic to the station. Both of these projects highlight the incredible impact of our Community Investment Fund, which supports initiatives that make a lasting difference to the people and places we serve. We can't wait to find out which projects we will support next year, as our CIF reopens on Monday 07 April 2025. CGA was delighted to attend Arriva Group’s Senior Management Conference in Madrid recently to showcase the CGA Empathy Lab® training that is being delivered to their UK trains group, Chiltern Railways. We have been working with Chiltern Railways to provide empathy training for their employees to improve the overall customer experience and reduce potential customer conflict. The interactive and immersive training programme, CGA Empathy Lab®, uses a blend of behavioural psychology, immersive tools and augmented/virtual reality to provide real-life frontline scenarios for learners to walk in the customers’ shoes. This training encourages active listening and self-awareness to improve customer interactions and gives staff the skills and confidence they need to better understand customers and make better choices in how they engage and interact with them. The feedback from the training to date has been overwhelmingly positive with staff commenting on how they feel better equipped. The CGA team was delighted to be able to showcase this with the wider management team at Arriva, who recognise the need for empathy skills in the workplace. For more information on our award-winning training programme, CGA Empathy Lab®, please visit our website: https://lnkd.in/e_xepaEC or contact us at info@cgaexperience.com. #CGAEmpathyLab #EmpathyTraining #CustomerExperience #NavigatorsOfExperience
