  • To round off B Corp Month, we headed to THE PIG Hotel | B Corp at Harlyn Bay for two days of discussion and great food. We were joined by 35 brands committed to sharing ideas and doing business differently.   From surf sessions to sustainability talks, we got stuck into the topics that matter - like what it really means to localise sustainability, build diverse and inclusive businesses, and create purpose-led products that stand the test of time.   It wasn’t just food for thought of course. We were proud to have Belazu ingredients on the BBQ menu, with dishes designed by Head Chef Thomas Holloway to champion local, seasonal produce - our favourite was the foraged wild garlic paired with Belazu Gordo Chickpeas, labneh and our peppery Lecciana EVOO.    With thanks to Good Company Ocean Bottle Simba Sleep | B Corp™ Country & Town House Vivobarefoot Sapling Spirits | B Corp St Eval Lumene Group Finisterre for hosting such an inspiring event. #BCorpMonth #GenB #BCorp #PurposeLed

  • Belazu Connects returned last night, this time at Fortnum & Mason, diving into what it really takes to break barriers and build safe, inclusive workplaces where women in food can thrive. Here’s what we took away:  🚀 Embrace your superpowers. Being emotional, intuitive, and sensitive doesn’t make you weak, it makes you a better leader. A great brigade needs empathy as much as it needs skill. 🍴 Hospitality isn’t just kitchens. From product development to food education, the opportunities for women are vast. Know where to look and don’t be afraid to carve your own path. 🤝 Mentorship is key. As leaders, provide safe spaces to guide, support, and prepare young women for challenges ahead. Success shouldn't be limited by gender or background. As Sabrina put it: "If you can't see yourself, how can you be yourself?" And if you’re just starting out, find the people who’ll champion you - forums like Belazu Connects are a good place to start. 🗣️ Men need to be a part of the conversation. They should listen, advocate and challenge outdated norms. Safety and respect in kitchens should be a given. 🔥 Your passion is your competitive edge. Confidence follows when you do what drives you, and encourage your team to do the same.  🧭 Your career path doesn’t have to be linear. It’s okay to evolve, pivot and explore. Reintroduce yourself whenever you need to - every experience adds value. We talked, we learned, we ate. Big thanks to the Fortnum & Mason culinary team for fuelling the conversation with delicious canapés using our food service range. And of course, to our warm and brilliant panellists:  Sabrina Gidda – Chef, Consultant, Creative & Author Anna Søgaard – Founder of Jomfru & Co-founder of Suppher Supper Club Eloise Moore – Chef Academy Lead Trainer at HIT Training & Private Chef Amber Francis – Head Chef at Christ’s College Finchley, Chefs in Schools Ambassador & Great British Menu Champion Daniela Gattegno Ho – Head Development Chef at Belazu Stay tuned for the next event in the series in July where we’ll be discussing how to build resilient restaurants and how to mitigate risks to the food supply chain. #WomenInFood #WomenInHospitality #FoodIndustry #HospitalityIndustry #FoodService

  • Being recognised as a ‘rockstar of the food world’? We’ll take that. Just last month, Mark Wahlberg was spotted liberally drizzling our Early Harvest EVOO over his post-workout eggs, setting our team group chats alight. Turns out, we might just be the new celebs on the block. For 30 years, we’ve been in the kitchens of top chefs, supplying the ingredients they rely on. Following our 2023 rebrand, we’ve been refining our identity while staying true to our roots. Quality is still non-negotiable. Food service is still in our DNA. And we’re still here to inspire and serve chefs in every kitchen - from home cooks to culinary experts. Great to be featured in The Telegraph alongside some of the best in the game - Bold Bean Co | B Corp™ Ottolenghi Group White Mausu Natoora Citizens of Soil | B Corp Mutti Wildfarmed and more. A big thanks to Clare Finney for the great write-up. https://lnkd.in/eeVUKpYi #food #brand #retail

  • We’re proud to be reaccredited as a B Corp - with a 10% increase in our score.   B Corp isn’t a one-and-done certification. It’s about constantly raising the bar. Here’s what helped us get there:   👭 Building a more diverse leadership team - 49% of our management team are now female 🚙 De-carbonising our fleet - Cutting emissions by ~92%, eliminating diesel use by switching to 4 EV vans and hydrogenated vegetable oil fuel, saving 134T of carbon (and counting) 🫙 Re-thinking packaging - Lightweighted our 170g glass jar to achieve a 48.8T reduction in glass per year 🔋 Going fully renewable - 100% of the electricity we buy for both sites is now from fully renewable sources, bringing our market-based Scope 2 emissions to effectively zero ♻️ Closing the loop on waste - We set up a circular waste stream with Refactory, turning 5T of used PPE into fence panels, boards, and benches   #BCorp #BCorpMonth #Sustainability #BetterBusiness #Belazu
