  • “Echoes of Earth” our latest campaign Inspired by the powerful message of the latest UN Biodiversity Conference COP16 Colombia —“The time has come to make peace with nature”—This campaign reflects on this call to action and explores how we can create harmony within our own urban ecosystems, particularly in a bustling city like London. In collaboration with queer Catalan-Panamanian artist and photographer JC Candanedo FRSA and British-Colombian actor and activist Diana Bermúdez Together, we reflected on our roles as creatives during a time of climate crisis and built a conscious ecosystem of curated objects imbued with deep symbolism. Every element in the campaign carries a rich history—from upcycled trees made from discarded garments from the Traid charity warehouse to yuccas and plantains prepared for dinner that same day. Each item has lived many lives and tells a story Echoes of Earth shifts the narrative to emphasise immediate, actionable solutions that can positively impact our local environments and communities. The campaign poses the question: What can we do today to protect and nurture the ecosystems closest to us? It encourages us to reimagine the outdoors within the limitations of urban living. In a city like London, where space is scarce, even small gestures—like growing plants on a windowsill or creating beauty from waste—can foster a meaningful connection with nature. The campaign celebrates these acts of guardianship and creativity, demonstrating how we can make peace with nature by extending the life of what we already have, embracing imperfections, and proudly displaying the marks of time. The garments have been crafted using zero-waste pattern techniques, where the pieces make full use of the fabric’s width, employing draping methods using vintage deadstock fabrics donated by artist Allegra Hicks and reclaimed wool and foam padding. The ponchos can be styled in 20 different ways  featuring upcycled shoes. Bringing fashion, heritage, and environmental responsibility is key to reimagine our role as guardians of our surroundings—and to make peace with nature, one conscious step at a time. A message of HOPE that redefines our role as a fashion brand and invites the audience to interact and contribute to the finale piece was among the highlights of the show. Thank you, Martyn Roberts, Elen Manukyan and Vahan Khachatryan for having me and showing me beautiful Armenia and your wonderful community, and special thanks to Orsola de Castro for connecting us. • Some highlights of our summer show “Echoes of Earth” at the Southbank Centre Inspired by Tavares Strachan piece “You belong here” I used letters as a starting point for this collection. I loved the graphic aspect of Tavares work and playing with different perspectives of how these letters can be worn and move with the body while carrying a hidden word. It was a lovely experiment to have interactive moments with the audience and see everyone keen and involved. This show touched on many topics we have worked on in the past 5 years, addressing the role of Fashion within the climate crisis while creating safe and educational spaces to talk and interact with future ideas around sustainability, migration, dance, music poetry and our shared responsibility towards the environment. • I’m beyond excited to invite you to “Echoes of Earth,” our summer show at Southbank Centre, join us to celebrate 5 years of Anciela with this immersive fashion presentation. Inspired by Tavares Strachan's "You Belong Here” from his amazing exhibition at the Hayward gallery “There is Light Somewhere” that really made me think about space and visibility and how we use our art to connect and tell stories during a time of environmental crisis. I left hopeful and inspired and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on with my super talented Anciela family. We’ll be exploring all these topics through dance, music, poetry and of course experimental fashion. Date: Saturday 3rd of August 2024 Location: Riverside Terrace, Southbank Centre, Belvedere Rd, London SE1 8XX  Time: 2 - 4 pm Open to all

Exhibiting long side great brands such as E.L.V. DENIM Patrick McDowell Richard James Savile Row Sustainable material choices still have the biggest impact when it comes to decarbonisation. We presented our recycled jacquard jacket made with British recycled yarns via iinouiio: Recycled Textiles developed with my friend and textile expert Alice Timmis And our halter neck top made with Irish hemp and linen jacquard and naturally dyed in London by Mariana Leyva from Studio Kuhu and “printed” by changing the PH of the pigments. #anciela
