EV Maritime was deeply honoured this week to be recognised in both categories in the New Zealand Sustainable Business Network awards.
In their commendation to EV Maritime for Disruptive Technology, the judges said,
"EV Maritime is pioneering clean transport with its electric ferry technology, set to reduce emissions by 500,000 tonnes per year by 2040. With projects in Auckland and beyond, this visionary company has huge potential to reduce emissions in harbour cities worldwide."
In the second award, for Transformational Leadership, the judges commended EV Maritime founder/CEO Michael Eaglen, commenting that:
"Michael Eaglen is a leader in decarbonising urban transport with EV Maritime’s zero-emissions fast ferries. His commitment to sustainable marine innovation and self-funded advocacy is reshaping harbour transport in Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond."
Congratulations to all 95 finalists, to the other 9 companies and individuals commended and to the two extremely deserving supreme winners Lodestone Energy (for Disruptive Innovation) and Mike Casey of Rewiring Aotearoa (for Transformational Leadership).
