We are proud to have Amanda Klehr speak at the upcoming American Clean Power Association (ACP) Siting & Permitting Conference sharing her research on biodiversity at solar facilities. Her work explores how birds interact with PV solar sites compared to farms and natural habitats, helping shape a more sustainable approach to solar development. She will be joined by a distinguished panel of experts from Ørsted, Lightsource bp, Argonne National Laboratory and Apex Clean Energy to discuss emerging development, financing, and operational trends. 📅 April 16th | 🕓 3:45 PM
One of the joys I get to experience professionally is watching really talented, smart, and passionate colleagues push into innovative and groundbreaking realms. My colleague, Amanda Klehr, recently published an article in Northeast Naturalist about avian use of operational solar PV facilities for nesting habitat. This is a genuine paradigm-shifting way to look at our energy infrastructure and its relationship with the surrounding environment. The traditional paradigm is that energy infrastructure impacts natural habitats and decreases biotic function (while providing the benefit of renewable energy). But this research shows that energy infrastructure can diversify wildlife habitat and improve ecological health. Check out the details in the this published article and please connect with Mandy or my other DNV - Energy Systems colleagues (Amanda Klehr Gabriel Constantin Claire Haack David De Caro Kyla Caddey, PWS, Certified Ecologist Bridget McEwen Cici Vu) at the American Clean Power Association (ACP) siting conference next week. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 Following DNV's keynote presentation at the recent hydrogen conference delivered by our expert, Pedram Fanailoo, we're sharing key insights on what's needed to build trust in the hydrogen market. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲. Without trust, we don't have a market. Without public trust, we don't have a future. For hydrogen to become a viable global commodity, three critical trust layers must be established: 1. 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁: Investors need confidence that hydrogen is a safe bet, supported by independent technical guidance on risks and opportunities. 2. 𝗕𝘂𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁: Purchasers must know with certainty that hydrogen meets their clean energy goals, with objective measurements of its environmental credentials. 3. 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁: Communities need to see hydrogen as safe, practical, and beneficial. Without public support, permitting slows, projects stall, and political momentum weakens. At DNV, we're actively building this trust foundation through our work in technical standards, verification protocols, and rigorous research. Our independent verification creates confidence in carbon scoring, enabling cross-regional trade and regulatory certainty. The world is watching as we navigate the energy transition. Hydrogen has tremendous potential to reshape global energy markets and deliver meaningful decarbonization, but only with systems that enable transparent, reliable transactions. Connect with Pedram to learn how we can help build trust in your hydrogen initiatives and accelerate the energy transition. https://lnkd.in/dG5qzRRX

DNV - Energy Systems la ut dette på nytt
What’s next for the energy transition in the U.S.? As the U.S. government scales back climate protections, public support for clean air, water, and a healthy environment remains strong. The challenge? Bridging the political divide to create lasting, bipartisan solutions. Protecting our planet is not a partisan issue—it’s a responsibility we all share for future generations. New DNV service specification launched: DNV-SE-0696 - Verification and certification of carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) facilities. As industries worldwide accelerate efforts to meet decarbonization targets, trust and transparency are essential to scale carbon capture technologies safely and effectively. DNV has published DNV-SE-0696, a new service specification that provides a consistent, robust framework for the independent verification and certification of CCUS facilities — from design and development through to operations and decommissioning. ▪ Supports regulatory compliance and stakeholder confidence ▪ Applies to all facility types across the CCUS value chain ▪ Aligns with international standards, national regulations and project-specific requirements. With this launch, we aim to support safe deployment, reduce project risk, and help enable the commercial viability of CCUS at scale.
