Weeks like this are why Apex Clean Energy is a great place to work. From gathering landowners 🚜 and partners together to celebrate starting operations on Timbermill Wind (North Carolina's second wind farm 🎉) to touring the project with the Chowan Middle School students who helped name one of the turbines (Penelope!) - this week was about thanking those who made the project possible and doubling down on our committment to deliver meaningful benefits to the host community. On to the next one! #PoweringBetter ⚡️

A school career day once changed my life. In high school, we did a field trip to a creek to do fish identification and collect “bugs”. The scientist leading it (she) said something along the lines, scientists don’t have to work in a laboratory. AND THAT WAS THAT! I went from always wanting to be a teacher to falling in LOVE with environmental science. 👩🏻🔬🥾👩🏻🌾 Nearly 20 years into this career and I’ve never regretted it once. So you better believe I’ll take every opportunity to show kiddos that you can be so many things, the possibilities are so big & you can choose your own adventure. Especially close to my heart are little girls falling in love with science and engineering. 🔭 Imagine my joy (and exhaustion) as I spent the day with nearly 150 2nd graders, sharing my love for sustainability, science, and clean energy. Big shout out to Apex Clean Energy for the volunteer leave and amazing swag to show these kids the present and future of #cleanenergy. Ps God blessss teachers. #womeninsustainability #womeninrenewables #careerday #womeninscience #LifeatApex

  • As the weather warms, construction activity is ramping up for energy projects nationwide. With nearly $330 billion invested in wind power over the past two decades, our industry’s economic potential is being realized project by project—employing over 131,000 Americans while delivering substantial tax revenue to rural communities.

This approach ensures we deliver on our commitments to communities, partners, and stakeholders while accelerating the shift to clean energy. Read more:

  • From cattle ranching to solar farming—Mary Margaret McDonald shares how five generations of her family have adapted to preserve their San Angelo legacy. Solar offers her community a new “crop” that creates jobs, supports schools, and helps sustain rural traditions.

  • Land management initiatives—including fostering sheep grazing, native plants, and pollinator habitats—are the next frontier for improving the sustainability of the energy sector. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with forward-thinking landowners who understand the combined environmental and economic potential of our projects. 🌱

  • Clean energy isn't just about generating low-cost power or supporting American energy independence—it also unlocks incredible benefits for local communities. From supporting essential services to creating jobs, wind power offers a range of positive impacts. Embracing renewables means a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
