We're thrilled to see the German Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport highlight the groundbreaking achievements of our portfolio company, ICODOS, in advancing sustainable marine fuels. 🌱⚓ This initiative is particularly significant for the shipping sector, which faces challenges in electrification due to long-distance operations. By producing e-methanol from biogenic sources, ICODOS offers a viable pathway to decarbonize maritime transport. ICODOS in partnership with Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Stadtentwässerung Mannheim, has launched Mannheim 001, the world’s first fully integrated e-methanol plant. Using a patented process, it captures CO₂ from wastewater emissions and converts it into climate-neutral marine fuel. A huge step toward decarbonizing shipping!
