The Valhall PWP-Fenris project marked before and during Easter an important milestone, with the 180 meters long towed spool starting the sail from the Westcon Yard in Florø to the Valhall field offshore for installation. The spool will connect the Valhall PWP to the existing gas export line in the area, and be a part of the Norpipe gas pipeline system going from Ekofisk via Valhall to Germany. Time to get to know one more Aker BP ASA field 💕👷🏻♀️ Writing from onboard Noble Invincible today to introduce you the Edvard Grieg oil field. It is located in the North Sea, 180 kilometers west of Stavanger. It was discovered in 2007 and began production in 2015. The field was named after a famous Norwegian composer. Edvard Grieg is developed with a fixed platform with a full process facility. Drilling and completion of wells are conducted using jack-up rigs. Since 2022, the Edvard Grieg platform has been powered from shore resulting in very low CO₂ emissions. The oil produced in EG is transported via pipeline to the Sture terminal on the west coast of Norway. This terminal, operated by Equinor handles crude oil and condensate from several fields in the North Sea. After processing and storage, the oil is sold on the open market, and major buyers typically include countries in northern and western Europe such as Germany, the Netherlands, the UK and France. We are now here as part of an Improved Oil Recovery campaign to extend the life of the field and to drill the last available well slot. The Yggdrasil team at Leirvik AS at Stord has completed the last major lifting on the Hugin A living quarters. Last weekend, the helideck was safely installed on the 1800 tonnes module by the heavy lift vessel Uglen.   The living quarter module will be part of the 30.000 tonnes Hugin A topsides, currently being assembled at Aker Solutions at Stord. Commissioning has started on the module, and approximately 300 people at Leirvik are working to complete the living quarters for delivery to Aker Solutions this autumn.   Through the Yggdrasil development, Aker BP is setting a new standard with remote operations, unmanned platforms, low activity set offshore, new technology and new ways of working. Hugin A is the area centre in Yggdrasil. The platform is planned to be periodically unmanned after some years of operation, and the 3600 square metres Hugin A living quarter only has 42 cabins.  Equinor ORLEN Upstream Norway AS

The Hugin A utility module is growing by the week at the Aker Solutions yard in Egersund. The last major section in the mid-level has been lifted safely in place, and now only the top level, the weather deck, remains to be installed on the module. The 7000 tonnes module is the largest new build project for many years at the yard. Approximately 1200 people, including many apprentices, are working to complete the module that will be shipped to Stord later this year for assembly on the Hugin A topsides. Hugin A will be the area centre of Aker BP’s Yggdrasil development. The Norwegian share of investments in Yggdrasil is approximately 65 per cent.
