This was a nostalgic Thursday! As this morning I drove on the parking grounds of my old University, Tilburg University. The first thing I saw was the iconic ‘Tilburg University’ sign, where of course I had my picture taken a couple of years ago. Now I’ve been working as a Data Inteligence Consultant at Clever Republic for 3 years, and together with my colleague Frank Bleker and Study Association Flow we hosted a hackaton of a few hours. As my journey to get where I am today was somewhat creative, from an Arts Academy to a MSc (and potentially a PhD but more on that soon!) we wanted to stress the importance of fun, creativity and that nothing is right or wrong - so we decided to play and work with LEGO cases! Through these cases, we gave an original concept for the students to explore Data & AI Governance. Thanks everyone for the amazing time I had and the engagement from the participating students!

AWS Summit Recap 🚀 Yesterday, my colleague Suzanne Backer and I visited the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Summit at RAI Amsterdam. For someone who hasn’t worked with AWS yet but has heard a lot about it, this was the perfect opportunity to gain valuable insights. We explored AWS development tools like SageMaker AI, Amazon Q, and Amazon Bedrock. Even better—we attended some great talks from companies like PostNL, Cloudflare, and HEMA on how they’re using AWS to solve real business challenges. This is one of the many things I love about working at Clever Republic: the encouragement and ongoing opportunities to deepen my knowledge about data, applications, and more. 👉 Want to know more about our company? Last Friday, our monthly Townhall meeting took place! We had a visit from Desiree Dankers, who presented an exciting program for the coming months, which will focus on the development & professional growth of our consultants. After, Wilko Verheij gave a crash course on SAP, Datasphere, and how Data Intelligence (Collibra) ties it all together! One of our long-lasting Townhall traditions is opening the Idea-Box! Anyone can put in ideas which will be evaluated during the Townhall. BCBS 239: Why Compliance Still Misses the Mark   Nine new regulations have landed in financial services in the last decade. Yet banks still struggle with the old ones.   Only 6.5% of banks are fully compliant with BCBS 239, according to the latest BIS report. And the issue?
