Check out the Inside Energy Transition newsletter's feature on our venture build company, Tulum Energy. The article explores an innovative approach to leveraging abundant stranded gas and converting it into clean, exportable molecules. This unique technology offers a promising decarbonization pathway. #TurquoiseHydrogen #MethanePyrolysis #SteelIndustry Tenova Ternium
Revolutionizing Hydrogen Production 💡 Hydrogen is poised to revolutionize steel production, but traditional methods face challenges like high costs and carbon emissions. Enter methane pyrolysis: a game-changing technology that efficiently produces hydrogen while capturing solid carbon, a valuable byproduct. Tulum Energy is at the forefront of this innovation, developing a pilot facility in Pesquería, Mexico, on the premises of Ternium, to harness this process for cleaner, more affordable hydrogen. By repurposing steelmaking technologies, they're paving the way for a sustainable future in the steel industry. Discover how methane pyrolysis could be the key to decarbonizing steel production, in the words of Max Pieri, CEO of Tulum Energy ️➡ https://lnkd.in/dHw9Kybk #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #Hydrogen #Steel Tenaris Tenova Tecpetrol Techint Ingeniería y Construcción TechEnergy Ventures

Great interview at CERAWeek where Alejandro Solé spoke about TechEnergy Ventures Venture Build company Tulum Energy. The opportunity to lever abundant stranded gas and convert it into clean exportable molecules through innovative technologies is a unique way to deliver decarbonization pathways without need for green premiums See below the link to the full interview
A couple of weeks ago at CERAWeek, I had a great conversation with Nicolás Gandini about the exciting potential of Tulum Energy. We explored its possible role in unlocking new pathways for leveraging Vaca Muerta’s vast natural gas resources through clean technologies. Natural Gas travels very poorly. However, converting this gas into clean, more easily transportable molecules—such as ammonia, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), or methanol—presents a significant opportunity. Not only could this help integrate clean local supply chains, but it also offers a meaningful way to contribute to the energy transition while developing Argentina’s natural resources. A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit Professor Rebecca Karp 's class at Harvard Business School, where she presented and discussed the TechEnergy Ventures case study that we developed last year. The fact that almost 40% of Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) programs are shut down within three to four years—and that few survive a CEO transition or a downturn in the parent company—highlights the immense challenges of maintaining both a strategic and financial agenda. Anyone working in CVC can attest to these difficulties. That said, the potential rewards are substantial. There is little doubt that CVC´s can be an incredibly effective tool for fostering innovation and unlocking new business opportunities—opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach for leadership teams focused on delivering results in their core businesses. Successfully executing a strategic agenda can generate value on a scale far greater than financial returns alone. It was fascinating to hear the students debate our case, and as a Columbia Business School alumnus, I enjoyed being on the "other side" of the desk. As I mentioned to the class, much of the debate that the students had, closely mirrors the conversations with our Investment Committee and within our team. In the end, there is no single correct answer—mandate alignment, consistency, and execution are what truly can lead to results. Thank you, Rebecca Karp, for the opportunity, and Jorge Dimópulos, CARLOS PAPPIER, Andrea Rocca and others that contributed to the case. PS: I couldn't resist taking the classic HBS cliché picture! 🧑🎓 For those interested, you can access the case study here: https://lnkd.in/dza6mWzt

CERAWeek is already underway and our CIO Alejandro Solé and Max Pieri, Co-founder & CEO of Tulum Energy, will be speaking together at the "Turquoise Hydrogen Venture Build" panel at the Innovation Agora (Agora - GRB L3 Pod 2) on March 12, from 4:00 to 4:30 PM (Houston, TX). In this session, they’ll explore how Turquoise Hydrogen is emerging as a scalable, efficient, and cost-effective solution for meeting industrial hydrogen demand. They’ll also dive into the key challenges—such as carbon offtake, energy efficiency, and infrastructure integration—that need to be overcome for methane pyrolysis to become a cornerstone of the low-carbon transition. If you're passionate about hydrogen and cutting-edge technologies, don’t miss out—stay tuned for more updates! #CERAWeek #TEVatCERAWeek #Hydrogen #TurquoiseHydrogen #TulumEnergy
